No Sperm......
My partner and I have been ttc for 16 months now. He went for a SA and within 2 days had a phone call from thr dr to say they found no sperm, not 1, in his semen. He has to go again in April to see if there is any change or if they made a mistake. Has anyone been through this or similar? Really need some help on this

Stillfuntryin: I am so glad to hear that you have no bad news to share. I hope it stays that way. AF showed up this morning. I have heard that same thing about getting pregnant after a loss I really hope that the case sense one more will be it for a while. My doctor wants me to skip this next cycle because my ovaries are really tender from all the follicles produced on the injectable meds, i was kind of bummed at first but now I'm looking forward to the break.

Stillfuntryin...my DH had pediatric brain cancer at age 2 and had chemo, radiation and a bone marrow transplant...all of which can affect sperm production. We were hoping for a better report from the doctor but it didn't come as a surprise to us. We r just praying that the fertility doc has some kind of good news for us since I know my DH isn't into using a donor or adopting.

My DH hasnt had any sort of cancer or anything major happen to him so hopefully its not him and its not me we just suck at timming
Pretty sure i ovulated yesterday and we BD lastnight (it was a little dry so afterwards i put a little preseed in, not sure if it will do any good or any harm but it was worth a shot, anything is worth a shot. it's funny this morning when i checked my cervix they were still high but firm and slippery CM, not sure what that means i have never had my cervix so firm so soon...
stiil have O pain today and i started BBT again and it did rise this morn from 97.57 to 97.88, not a massive rise but its still a rise of more than .25 and i hope it rises again tommorow i will be so bummed if i didnt ovulate again!

Hi girls, sorry to hear all the bad news on here! My computer was down - first time I've ever gotten a virus on it - luckily I didn't lose anything.
I feel for all of you. It's so unfair that all we want to do is love and care for a child, and we can't. And I see so many "accident" babies around - it makes me so sad. jmcandrew, don't give up hope - IVF may do the trick! Hang in there everyone!
I'm going to hold off on the ICI for a bit and do some more reading about it. It sounds a bit tricky and risky, and I want to buy a speculum first. My DH will also think I'm insane too...he is sure that it will happen naturally in due time and that I just need to relax about it all. I might just try putting an instead cup in after BDing for a couple cycles. I also ordered fertilaid for both of us and motilityboost for my DH, as well as fertiltea, so I'll try these along with progesterone and preseed for the next 4-5 cycles.
One week to go before AF is due - the countdown is on!

Stillfuntryin: I hope that everything works out this cycle anyways but if not and the only problem is your not O'ing that's an easy fix. Clomid would help you and get you your bfp! GL!
Northernbabydream: I think it's def. important to find out all the information you can before going through with anything. But from what I've read from others ICI is pretty easy since you just place the semen close to the cervix but don't actually have to go into it but I'm sure it's still something you'd want your Dh to help you do as its probably pretty tricky to do on your own. Let us know if the fertilaid and motility boost help. I had bought the fertilaid for my Dh when we received his first SA results but he refused to take them because he didn't believe they would help.

Melc...my DH has been on fertilaid and count boost since we did our first home SA in hopes that it would help. I have heard great things about them but after a little over a month it hasn't done a thing for us since the doctor ordered SA said zero spermatozoa. It does take about 3 months for a man to produce sperm from his germ cells though so Im still praying that after another 2 months something might happen. I bought 3 months worth of pills so he might as well take them! I don't think that my and DHs problem can be helped by any pills anyways. We have an appt with a male fertility specialist on the 25th so we should have more answers shortly.

Trying not to get my hopes up, but I woke up this morning with cramps and (sorry, TMI ahead!) at mid-morning there was a tad of spotting and bit of CM after. Spotting and cramps have stopped now, except for the odd twinge. I'm 10 dpo. Trying not to speculate, but I'm really hoping that this was implantation. I also haven't had any breakthough spotting like I've had in previous cycles (other than today). Ironic thing is that I ran out of progesterone, so haven't been taking it this cyle.
I have a hard time getting my DH to take any vitamins or supplements, so I'm not sure how far I'm going to get with the fertilaid ones. I figure that some are better than none, so even if he doesn't take them all the time, it will still help and at the very least, isn't going to hurt...

Northernbaby: That does sound good!!! let us know when you take a test!! this is always the hardest part... waiting... :)
Sugarbear: I'm glad he's taking the fertilaid! I hope it helps!! it sucks that it take 3 months, that a long wait when your TTC. But it will be soooo worth it in the end! i'm really hoping you appt goes well this week.
Stillfuntring: I agree with melC, ask about clomid. Enjoy the movies! :)
me: My Re called me later, told me he doesn't want to do the IUI, and to take the month off. He's going to try and fight the insurance. I also spoke with a genetic specialist to schedule a conference call with her on monday with my DH. She calm me down, said its a 50/50 shot i would give the bad X chromosome as pass a 'carrier' gene, and of that 50%, it only a 4% that i'll pass along the full mutation gene... it's complicated, but the numbers are low. The good news, it there is a 50% chance that I wont, and during the ER they'll be able to select the good embryos...
