Hi,

I'm doing my first IVF this November. I don't normally post on here but if there was ever a time to reach out it is now.

Anybody else?

Awhittaker - stay positive at this point, that is still a decent beta. I hope all goes well for you!!

Jen - Can't believe your beta is in 2 days! I'm sure switching the crinone won't affect anything. I just hope it makes you feel better!

I've been pretty emotional since our perinatal scan yesterday. Our little guys kidney's are dilated to 8mm, which is pretty severe. They do not think at this point they will correct themselves which means it will probably require surgery after birth. I feel terrible for him about this, but at the same time it sounds like a fairly easy procedure and he won't be in pain! The part I was a little shocked to hear is that enlarged kidney's are also a soft marker for Downs. That had not been mentioned to me before! However, I did have that blood test that said there was a 99% chance he does not have it... although there is a slight chance of a false negative. The perinatal specialist said I could have an amnio, but I would rather not risk it. We will keep this sweet boy and love him no matter what!! It would just be nice to know for sure to prepare. The chances do seem EXTREMELY low seeing my blood test came back okay and there are no other markers, but of course, I'm freaking myself out and googling like crazy :( I just want him to be healthy!!

BFP's do come in 3's......

I'M PREGNANT!!!!!

Our beta is tomorrow morning but we couldn't wait any longer. My mind was playing horrible games with me all day and I was feeling so down.... I just had to know to prepare ourselves. I took a FRER and a walmart cheapie and the FRER came up so much faster and darker!! We cried, and cried, and cried some more. Happy is an understatement. I have never been pregnant and this was the most amazing moment I have ever experienced. I know that we have a long road of worrying ahead of us and beta's and ultrasounds, but I just want to enjoy this moment.

You ladies are the first to know as well. Although all of our friends and family knew we were doing IVF, we hid the transfer date due to stress and element of surprise reasons. I have been taking pictures and recording this whole process and will make a video as our announcement if things keep going well. I still have the rash but it is not getting worse now that I am on the Crinone. I still don't have any spotting. I will let you all know tomorrow after the beta what it is.

Awhittaker- I'm still thinking constantly about you and hoping for the best. I hope that your beta is still rising.

Congrats jen! Praying for a great beta result for you! You ladies were the first to know after my hubby too! My bestfriend knows but no one else yet til after the ultrasound. And yes everything seems so far away...... I have my first ultrasound in 8 days and it feels like it might as well be 8 years! I still worry a lot! Still checking the tp for spotting everytime I go to the bathroom which lately is every 45 mins lol. I know I won't stop worrying til I see a heartbeat. Or hearbeats? When I checked betabase my numbers were way higher than the typical singleton and almost dead on the median for a twin pregnancy. 21dpo was 3336 for twins on betabase and I was at 3360 on 21dpo. Fingers crossed!

First off ladies, just want to thank you so much for all of your support. I just got my 3rd beta and we have an hcg of 271 up from 145 in 2 days. The RE doesn't want to do any more HCG tests and wants to just wait for the OB US on 11/10. It's going to be a long 11 days but I am hopeful and grateful we are still on this journey!

Jen- Congratualtions to you and your hubby! So glad that you got your positive!

Mnor- I'm betting you have twins! How awesome is that! :)

Again, Thank you all for being so supportive, I know that you all understand this journey so much better than anyone else around me.

As for symptoms, not so much insomnia but peeing 4 times a night is the latest, boobs are heavy, not sore. And I've been queasy around 2am both nights and super hungry around 10am even after I ate a breakfast. I am having some (sorry TMI) peachy/brown discharge and had some tiny pin size clots twice. The clinic isnt concerned as they think it is the endometrin irritating my cervix. Almost makes me want to get on PIO instead.

Grace and waiting- keep us posted on your pregnancy updates as well!
waiting- hope things get better with the baby's kidneys, you never know but things may correct themselves in the next couple weeks. I can understand your worry though so you are in my thoughts.

Awhittaker - So happy to see this morning that your betas are still rising! What a great sign! With my early losses the 3rd beta went down or barely changed. I was so glad when I asked to not do anymore betas and they agreed. Even though my numbers are pretty high it is still so stressful waiting and worrying about those numbers every couple days. It's nice to just let go and whatever happens happens. Take every day one day at a time and remember that you are pregnant and enjoy that fact! Praying that your little bean keeps growing, gets stronger and senses how much you want it!

Awhittaker that is so wonderful that your HCG is increasing!! I am so happy for you!! That great news!

Thewaitinggame- I can't imagine what you must feeling when the doctors tell you something could be wrong with the baby's kidneys but I think it is good news thought that there is a procedure to correct it, and if the baby needs it, then hopefully you can have the surgery done and move on. I am pediatric ICU nurse and work at a hospital that does kidney surgeries and transplants so I have taken care of many children who have had surgeries and gone on to live happy, medically uneventful lives :) I will keep you in my thoughts and continue to hope for the best!

MNOR- I know exactly what you mean about the numbers. I am already worrying about my numbers on Monday. Is this how the whole process is going to be? I just can't stay happy for thoughts of losing this pregnancy. I'm trying to take your advice and just enjoy being pregnant... We tell my in-laws tonight... I'd hate to get them excited and find out Monday it didn't keep growing.

Jen- as far as numbers. I'm still worried but just happy that they don't want to see me to do more blood as its stressful and in the long run harmful to baby and your mental well being. We haven't told any family yet just one of our best friend couples and I think In our case we will wait till after the first ob scan. Have fun sharing the news tonight and I'm sure all will be fine :)

So Mnor and Jen- what symptoms are you having now? Anything new or changes?

I'm peeing frequently. Especially at night and insomnia is back. I'm also super moody and irritable. Trying to tame that. Had some more pinching in the uterus yesterday and I'm not sure if its stretching or just the progesterone causing that. Feeling a lot more optimistic and hoping for the best.

And... since I have had an allergic reaction the PIO, the crinone is $30 days a day. My insurance does not cover anything infertility related, and right now I am having to call the pharmacy, my IVF center back and forth to try to get this covered since this should now be coded under pregnancy support, not infertility. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Another $1800 Crinone will cost me if my insurance won't cover it. That puts at $25,000 spent.

Crinone is expensive even as a copay! Mine is covered by insurance because they billed it for repeat pregnancy loss or something? Not even sure I just pay my $100 in copays per month and don't ask questions.

Symptoms... all day nausea and stomach cramps now the last day or 2... I have a feeling full blown morning sickness is going to kick in soon, headaches, insomnia, cravings (almost tackled someone for a rice krispie treat yesterday!), lots of cm, some uterus tugging cramps every now and then.

I am definitely not telling my parents or the inlaws until at least the first ultrasound. Might wait til thanksgiving. They are all major blabber mouths. My inlaws are a huge italian family who know literally everyone and I know they won't keep it quiet! My sister in law owns a hair salon, the epicenter of gossip! I'll probably tell my close friends first honestly because I need to tell someone and they will take it to the grave if I tell them too lol.
