@Twoforone- Thank you for jumping in. I had mentioned that they determine uterine size during that exam but had not gone into specifics. Im glad to hear that your cerclages were successful, my sister in law had to have it done with two of her children neither of which were carried to term. My Dr just told me on Fri that I am measuring well larger than I should be due to my uterine fibroids. That determined that my baby is at risk of not having enough room if they continue to grow and possibly end up needing a preterm csection. I am now wait for an appt with the high risk specialist, who will probably also do a pelvic exam.

Hi ladies... just need to vent a bit. I’ve been spotting for the past week like I said ever since after my OB appointment. Well today, when I peed, the stream was red - not from pee, from blood from my vagina. It was red. If I wasn’t pregnant, I’d have put a tampon in and assumed I got my period. I called my OB and the nurse told me to go to the ER to get it checked out. So I went.

They did tons of bloodwork and I got another ultrasound. I’m now 8 weeks 1 day. My baby still has a heartbeat and is growing right on pace. This is where I get angry. The doctor said this doesn’t mean I still won’t miscarry. She said spotting and bleeding can be normal for some pregnancies. Then she told me not to come back to the ER unless I’m passing out from blood loss. She said this wasn’t an emergency and if I’m going to miscarry, there’s nothing they can do anyway. It was the most insensitive response she could have given me.

I felt like a fool as I walked out of there. This is my first pregnancy, I had bleeding and the doctor had zero compassion. My OB was even the one who told me to just go to the ER in the first place! Ahhh! So frustrating.

@Ruby0709- There is no reason for you to feel like a fool! Any woman would have done the same thing! That doctor was a jerk who needs to go back through the course on how to treat patients. I am so sorry you are going through this and I hope it all stops and turns out to be nothing. That must be so scary and to have someone who is supposed to be there to help you treat you like that is so wrong. I would probably call the patient advocate and say something so that another woman doesn't have to be treated that way. You and your baby are in my prayers.

I’m not sure who still follows this group but I found out today that I had a missed miscarriage. I had bleeding and went to get checked. I should have been about 11 weeks. I was 8 weeks 3 days with no heart beat. I had bleeding and went to the ER at 8 weeks 1 day but there was a heart beat so i was relaxed. The baby’s heart stopped two days after my visit to the ER though without my knowing.

This was my first pregnancy. Tomorrow is my D&C.

For those having June babies, I wish you ladies the best health and healthy babies.

@Ruby0709. Oh my God. I am so sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers for you and your husband while you go through this difficult time. I cannot imagine what you are going through right now. I just don't understand why these things happen to someone so precious. Will you guys be taking a break to grieve or will you get back on the wagon and try again?

Thanks for your kind words.

My husband wants to try again ASAP. I want to wait and let my body recover a bit.

We agreed to wait until the end of January and go directly to a fertility specialist. After a few tests, the doctor told us we are perfect candidates for IUI. I’d rather just do that and be constantly monitored than try on our own again.

It just stinks having to start all over again ????

@Ruby0709. I hear you and it will take the guess work out of when you ovulate and not having to test all the time. I really hope things work out for you and your husband when you try again.
