Group for the BFPs

Hi, girls! I just wanted to create a group for all the BFPs we have gotten. There have been so many lately and i have gotten to know a lot of you and i don't want to go to another forum. I feel bad talking on other groups about my bfp when others are still trying. So I figured we could talk about things in here too! I am 6w5d today. I have a 2yr old dd and am 39 yrs old. Just starting to get a few symptoms and my eye is twitching out of control. Hope to hear from my other bfp friends!

@Lakarmw re: your baby shower organized by your sister-if you're really uncomfortable with it, i'd just insist to her that she shouldn't go through the trouble and that you're not feeling up to it. The unfortunate part about it is if you go, you really cant dictate who is invited as its organized for you. as frustrating as it may be. and i fully agree with you that this sounds like more of an event for her and like she's kind of doing it out of obligation, as opposed to genuinely doing it out of the kindness of her heart.

I had sort of a similar situation going on where my sisters knew i didnt want anything but felt obligated, i think, to some extent. But what they planned was kind of a half ass type thing that wasn't much different to a normal family sunday where we all go to my parents house, except there'd be snacks. no friends. so it'd just be the 3 of us. I realized that i'm sure part of the reason for this was because there is just so much going on in our lives at the moment that i just told them i appreciated the gesture, but to not go to any trouble and lets just nix the idea all together. Look, i didnt want some big extravaganza, but I also didnt want some pity party.

@MrsSilver. I did the sneak peak test and it came out to be true, even though I cheated a bit. No men can be allowed to open the test or be in the room. Since I did mine at work in the ladies/men bathroom. Course I sanitized the whole work area and the test came back male. When I had my ultrasound the middle of September it too confirmed it was a boy.

I'm all set to be diacharged home. Little Isaiah had to be put under the blue light as his Biliruben was high and the lab work this morning came back that it dropped. So, I am happy about that. I seem to always develop the baby blues and last pregnancy I developed post partum depession. Breasts are definately engorged and full of milk. I really hope I can keep up with the demand. Other than that, baby is doing well and sleeping lots.
Thank you to everyone for being there and listening to me through the past 9+ months. I hope all of you have a easy delivery and speedy recovery. Love all of you. Will keep in touch

Thanks @Neomasie, I'm just going to turn up, smile and thank everyone i think...easier than causing a drama in our family, I'll only be accused of being 'hormonal' it's only 2 hours of my day I guess and I could always leave early if I don't feel up to it. She has booked it at a venue and i know theres a cake so I guess cancelling would seem ungrateful. Thank you for your kind words...I hope your doing ok?
Dragonfly23 glad to hear all is going well hope your breasts feel better soon and all goes to plan.
I turned 36 weeks today it's seems so close and still so far all at the same time....I feel quite grumpy today, for no apparently reason just everything annoys me haha. xxx

@dragonfly - CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm SOOO happy for you! He's so beautiful. So glad you have him in your arms. The bilirubin light is very temporary and very common with breastfed babies. Keep at it! My first son I was able to just take him outside in the sun as he was born in May, but this little girl might have to go under the lights as a December baby. Keep taking your prenatals for your milk and for hormone regulation. Remember, right after birth all those hormones drop like a stone and can make you temporarily depressed, so not necessarily PPD unless it lasts. I hope your first weeks bonding with Isaiah are wonderful!

AFM - I'm 30 wks today and weird update on my gestational diabetes. It really does matter what monitor you use. The specialist prescribed me a different monitor than what I had been using, saying the new one was more accurate. I've been using it for the last week = ALL my numbers are perfect. All about 20-30pts LESS than they were before. I'm able to eat normal again (just without blatant sugar like ice cream or donuts, although I can put sugar in my coffee) and discovered that I feel so much better! I think the whole meltdown and the feeling awful and weakness was actually LOW blood sugar. I was starving myself for a week trying to avoid carbs that would raise my blood sugar, when in fact, I was probably sending it way too low due to a bad monitor. I had a breakfast sandwich today!! With a croissant! You have no idea how happy this makes me lol. Once I started eating again normal, my bump came back. I actually went to my sister's costume party and it was a big hit. It's a little dark, but it matches my sense of humor. Plus unicorns have represented both my TTC journey and this pregnancy so I thought it was fitting.
