Deyzer... Bleeding a few days before AF is due could indeed be implantation. Some women get slight bleeding or spotting from implantation, which happens between 6dpo and 10dpo. FX that you get your Xmas gift.

CP.., I think you are right to prioritize your own family. Your sis will get used to it.
