Looking for ladies in their 40's TTC

Hello :)
I was wondering if they are any ladies out there in their 40's ttc. Please add me as a friend and we can support each other along the way.
I'm trying for another child but have had a few losses along the way but not ready to give up just yet, not while I know they're still some eggs just waiting to be caught!
and to every single one of you out there!

Kizmo1121 - I had my hysteroscopy with D&C last Thursday. The procedure was fairly easy. The Dr. found that instead of a polyp blocking my tube, I had some type of membrane blocking it. She was able to remove it. She said my right tube was only open a pinhole so she cleaned that out too. I should now have 2 fully functioning tubes! I did have some cramping on Saturday. I go for a follow up with my Dr. on the 14th. Are you still thinking about having this procedure done?

Hello tryingforbaby#2, Yes I actually did have it done back in March. One tube came back looking blocked, however the tech doing the procedure was just that and not my reg OB. They didn't do anything more they try to push more dye thru and when they couldn't they stopped.

I'm back at start again, month 11 of trying since the tubal reversal. Cycle this round was 4 days late, I was getting excited but AF showed up anyway. Waiting for the doc to decided on meds for this round. I have been on Clomid for 3 rounds at 50 mg, and I OV on my own and always have. She was hoping that extra bump would give us a little bit better odds, but nothing yet.

One thing that gets me a bit upset is that she isn't taking blood draws or even any ultrasounds. I'm kind of in the dark on what's happening on the inside.

How about everyone else? Any news?

Trying to conceive at 40 and so far we have tried for three months. We are going on 4 months this month with No luck. I saw a specialist to see what my risks are and they said I could go ahead and try. I'm getting very discouraged as nothing is happening as of yet. I do think I'm ovulating after iud for 5 years but really not sure. I'm keeping track of everything I can but I'm still learning as I go. Can anyone tell me what I do next if I don't get pregnant in the next two month. Do I see my specialist or do I see an obgyn. What would I ask to try next. I'm afraid I won't have anymore children if I don't do something fast. I would really like to have a boy. I think I was pregnant last month but I don't really know. I had a spot of blood along with brownish blood in panties 6 days after ovulation I believe. I could be wrong. Anyone got any advise they could give to a women trying to conceive on her own at 40. Please advise me on the next steps to take as well as any advise on trying to get pregnant! Thanks for your help.... Baby dust to all.

Hi magicalstarR! My best advice.... don't wait for anything! Get bloodwork (hormone) levels tested for you. This has to be ordered by your doctor and is usually done within the first few days of your cycle. This will give the doc results to see if your levels are 'normal' or not and then they will proceed from there. They need to find out for sure whether you are ovulating, have reserve, etc. You said you are keeping track of everything...Are you temping? Using OPK's? Because of our AMA (Advanced Maternal Age) if you see your ob-gyn and tell them how long you have been trying naturally they may want to push on the gas so to speak. Better to go A.S.A.P if it's not happening. I had my boy first try at 38 and now I'm 46 trying for #2 and have been trying for almost 1 1/2 years! BIG mistake thinking it would be just as easy.... Don't wait girlfriend!!

Hello everyone! I'm a newbie here. Just turned 47. Long story short I am in a relationship (3 years) with a shall we say quite a bit younger guy. I have 2 children... One born when I was 21 and the other I was 27. The significant other would like kid(s) and I certainly have baby fever. I haven't gone through any trying or testing as we're not quite ready to try but I have stressed to him time is of the essence. Just curious how many in this age range have had any luck naturally. Thanks in advance and best wishes to all.

Welcome Shaelakita and everyone else!

I haven't posted in a while but wanted to say keep trying and don't give up. I had my son at 38, a daughter at 39 (deceased, Trisomy 18), and we're hoping for a perimenopausal baby. If we fail natural we are looking at donor eggs, fostering, adopting.
Keep trying ladies!

Welcome! Yes by golly I'm still here!! Quick summary since it's been awhile for me on this thread..I'm 46 and trying for #2. Had my boy at 38 and love him to pieces, but I know I'm not done yet!!! We've had 2 failed IUI's and several months of cysts due to gonal-f injections so we are done with that process. Can't afford IVF so we are going it naturally now. The whole clinical thing was a little more stressful than we liked. Between trying to make appointments while I was working and people asking if something was up and the cysts... yeah we were done. BUT not done trying!! Hoping God with bless us again if it is His will.
ATM I am taking a woman's daily vitamin, extra folic acid, baby aspirin, maca, and royal jelly.
Wishing all of you ladies and sending prayers for you.

Ok, have to vent some.

I switched to a new doctor last month as the other one would not do follicle check ultrasounds. Just kept having us use the OPK test sticks for ovulation knowing that an HSG test this past March showed one tube blocked. So we really wanted to know if I was ovulating on opposite sides and how many / size ect.

So switched over and last month new doctor puts me on Femara. She sees a few follicles with smaller eggs on CD13, but one nice sized one at around 21mm, unfortunately its on the blocked side. She advised us to get busy anyway as you just never know. Well, no pregnancy.

I called to see about setting up the ultrasound for this month, excited to see the open side and what is happening, only to have the nurse email me back with sorry the doctor will be out next week and to just do the OPK test sticks and get busy. Call her office two weeks after that when I test with the home pregnancy test.

I have to say I want to scream and cry my eyes out at this point. I am so frustrated. We can't afford IVF as its not covered under our medical plan and its very expensive in our area. I am feeling this ticking clock inside and feel like I'm going crazy.

To add to the frustration, my husbands ex just announced she was pregnant with her hubby. ....great was all I could think at hearing that. That sounds terrible and I am happy for her but I keep asking myself why not me? What am I missing that's wrong with me?

Thanks gals for listening. I know I'm not alone in my thoughts but I needed to vent for a bit.
