Looking for ladies in their 40's TTC

Hello :)
I was wondering if they are any ladies out there in their 40's ttc. Please add me as a friend and we can support each other along the way.
I'm trying for another child but have had a few losses along the way but not ready to give up just yet, not while I know they're still some eggs just waiting to be caught!
and to every single one of you out there!

Sydney,

The last time I got naturally pregnant I was 43. It was a total surprise. The pregnancy didn't proceed far, but then again I've always had in the back of my head the knowledge that I've been exposed to some nasty industrial toxins at the time that probably don't help such things.

I'm glad to hear to you asking questions. I'm with you that I don't think those OPKs are bunk, but there does seem to be an "art" in learning how to read them for your own body.

I used to keep my thermometer right on my nightstand or gently tucked between the mattress & box spring so I would hardly have to move to use it. I also downloaded an App called Kindara that I like for tracking. I found it easy to use, and they have good charting examples. As I decided to go for the IVF, I was only tracking my period, but still found it useful.

Godspeed Girlies!

Woo hoo - I have partial ferning on my Maybe Baby. I'm in that transitional period so ovulation is just around the corner.

This is like the holy grail for me - seeing proof with my own eyes!

I had an acupuncture session last night. My practitioner thinks I'm trying too hard and just need to relax. So much easier said than done!

Busterdogs I'm so glad your two little beans are going well :-)

Busterdogs, way to go on saving for college for your little ones already!

SydneyNat, consider yourself very, very lucky indeed. One fresh IVF cycle at my clinic with genetic testing on the embryos is $20,000 for everything (medications, labs, scans, dr visits, anesthesia, operating room fee, retrieval & transfer, etc). Knock off $6,000 if you don't want the genetic testing. The IUI cycle is $2,500 for everything (but if you have leftover meds from prior cycles you can save hundreds of $).

I'm 8 dpo & wanting to test, but last month I got my feelings hurt when I tested early & kept getting a bfn. This month I think by not testing I'll think there is always hope. The only symptoms I have is some very mild achy pain in my uterus, but absolutely nothing else. I thought the progesterone would cause more symptoms. We'll see.

For everyone: here are some supplements, "fertility cocktails" if you will, that some say are excellent. CCRM is supposedly an excellent fertility clinic in Colorado here in the US; the other cocktail is from Canada. Let me know if anyone has any opinions on the cocktails, especially the ones for men.

Hope you ladies have a lovely weekend!

Morning ladies, AF came this week and it knocked me for six. I was totally convinced that I was pregnant..... Silly really. So I called my fertility specialist and I have an appointment on the 28th of October which is awesome as he doesn't have any for 7 months, but because his co worker gave me clomid unmonitored which the nurse said broke the protocol of their clinic he fitted me. I'm happy about this. We will be moving to the next stage now.
We are going away next weekend but will continue to try naturally.
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.
I think about us all n I'm sure we will get our beautiful bundles of love soon. God willing. x

Good day ladies , how is everyone doing?

eat2nourish I can imagine you must be staring at those hpt's and dying inside to use them but I know too that testing too early especially when it's negative is so frustrating so good on you waiting for as long as possible. This time I waited till 11 or 12dpo and when it was negative I knew it was only a matter of days till AF showed her ugly face so I didn't have to suffer for too long lol. Onwards and upwards on a new cycle with renewed hope. .

I'll be keeping everything crossed for you as I alwasy do that you get your !!! Best of luck! .

SydneyNat hope things are looking up for you regarding ovulation.

Smiling4us that's good news about the doctor seeing you, the initial clomid could've worked but as it didn't it's turned out in your favour so and .

Take care everyone and wherever you are in your cycles I wish you the very best.

I hope everyone is doing well.

This morning I forced DP to BD with me before he went to work - I've got ferning on my Maybe Baby and we didn't' do it last night when we really should have, as we didn't do it the night before.

Poor thing, he's not good at morning BD haha.

I'm on cycle day 17. If I'm having a 31 day cycle this month, as I sometimes do, today should be ovulation day.

We are going on a four night cruise tomorrow. If I haven't ovulated already this month - my ferning was only partial - this might be the relaxing sort of environment for it to finally work.

My acupuncturist said I need to chill out a bit more as stressing will stop me getting pregnant. I think I'm getting there. Not quite, but getting there.

I put a link in above for anyone who is interested in reading about the Australian TV presenter I mentioned a few pages back. She fell pregnant at 48 using a donor egg.

The article is interesting to me because it quotes a RE from the clinic I go to. She talks about stats and age.

I particularly like this article, because this Doctor said at age 42, 50 per cent of women won't get pregnant using their own eggs. That means 50 per cent CAN. That's not a bad number as far as I'm concerned. I'm tired of being told I've only got a 5 per cent chance!

Baby dust to you all xoxoxox

Hi ladies. Looks like I'm going to be out this cycle. I got a migraine yesterday & I always get one before AF shows. Good news: I have yet a different list of supplements to try that resembles the list from CCRM, plus more, lol!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi Ladies!

I hope everyone is doing well. I just read that Sonia Krueger link that Syndey provided. What a great read, particularly in how honest she is about IVF. I applaud such honesty & I look forward to following her on Twitter.

Not much news to report here. I'm nearing the end of my first trimester, and I've elected to have the first screening done. I'm not feeling too anxious, but you can't help but be happy to get past that milestone too. General symptoms have lessened considerably; I am not nearly as bloated and uncomfortable. One funny symptoms is I have to watch how hard I cough in the mornings. A good cough has the risk of triggering a gag reflex and about five minutes of dry heaving, which scares my husband and dogs.

Well I just wanted to check in. I hope all you ladies are at least having fun fooling around. Baby dust to all!
