Anyone else taking Clomid for the first time?

Hi Everyone. I am on cycle day 23 today and I believe I am 4 days past ovulation (though my OPKs have said I am ovulating every day for the last 4 days).
This is my first cycle taking Clomid (days 5 - 9) as my Dr. says I have very mild PCOS. I read on here so many other things that girls taking Clomid are doing but I was given the pills and told to take it every day from 5 -9 and start BDing every day 9 - 16. Because my OPKs didn't show a positive, my hubby and I kept BDing every day until yesterday when I finally decided that we both really needed a break!
I feel like I have done everything I can this month - Clomid, Robitussin, Preseed, tried 13 days in a row and Instead cup. I really hope everything works.
If any one has any Clomid tips, suggestions, knowledge, and especially success stories, I would love to hear them!!
Thanks!!!

Hello my clomid sisters!!!

Today I had my u/s. Its always fun to get probed with a camera wand by a complete stranger.... The ultrasound tech spent a lot of time on my right ovary (which is were I feel most of the pain) so I hope that isn't a bad sign. The good news is she also measured my endometrium thickness which is good information to have considering clomid can thin that out. Hopefully I'll get positive results soon.

Margret - I'm glad you and your dh decided to go ahead using the monitor and that you discovered success stories on the internet! Keep us posted on how that goes!!!

Aisha - I laughed when I read that at 6 DPO you'll start "imagining" symptoms! That is SOOO something I do! At least we know ourselves well! Sorry to hear about your immune deficiency! Seems like both our bodies are messed up! LOL!

My doc just called me as I was writing this and said she is going to keep my on 50 mg next cycle because she says I ovulated on CD 21 (which puts me right at 5 DPO with you Aisha!) and that that ovulation time is just fine! YAY! Good to know I am not broken! Hopefully my luteal phase is longer (this cycle) if I don't get my BFP as well!

Hi Girlies!

Hope you are both having a great day so far.

Aisha - I'm also sorry to hear about all your infections. What a pain!

I am so excited to here how both of your testing goes on the weekend!!! I really hope it goes great!!!!

I called my specialist today to let them know when I ovulated and the nurse was going to talk to the Dr. and get back to me. If I don't hear in the next 45 minutes I am going to call as I start my pills otmorrow and want to make sure I am taking the right dose. I am taking them CD 5 - 9 again but we will see if they keep the dose the same. GOod point Asia - maybe I should have been taking them 3 - 7. We will see what he says....

Hello lovely ladies!

Victoria- about getting probed by a stranger! I will be getting my u/s in about a week and this will be my first internal one. My past ones have been external. Not sure what will be worse- being violated and probed or trying to hold an extremely full bladder while someone is pushing on it and tickling you! I hope everything is ok with your ovary! I'm sure it is! One thing that may help relieve your fears is that when it comes to our abdomen and chest, where is perceive pain isn't always completely accurate to the actual organ that is hurting. It isn't like our skin and muscles where we can pinpoint pain. People with liver problems can feel the pain in their shoulders and some people with heart attacks feel the pain in their teeth! When it comes to our organs, we usually only feel pain when the surrounding tissues are stretched from something pushing on them like swelling. Before I found out I couldn't O without clomid, I was convinced I was having ovulation pain in my left ovary and then found out later I was really just a little constipated! So ovary pain may not really be what it seems!

Margaret- for this cycle. Are you still taking the 50s? I can't really remember, but did you have any bad side effects of clomid last cycle?

As for me, my infection got worse- I started bleeding a little today and not AF or implantation bleeding- definite skin bleeding. I made an appointment to see my gyno and the appointment is on St. Patty's Day. Should I be festive and get some temporary shamrock tattoos to put on my inner thighs?

Aisha! Yep - do it. Seriously though I am sorry to hear about your infection. Sounds painful Let me know what the Dr says. I hope everything is ok.

Victoria - did you get your results back yet?

I heard back from my Dr and he is going to keep me on the same dose (50mg) and days for now. He says it is working, because I did ovulate and that late ovulation (around day 19) is perfectly fine. Last month we were told to BD from days 9 - 16 but I used OPKs and we kept till day 22. This month he said we are ok to start trying around day 13 or so but I am going to continue to use OPKs and my new CBFM just in case.

Aisha - the only side effect I had from Clomid was hot flashes. I have heard that you may get more symptoms each month that you take it. I guess we will see. I will let you know. What did you get for symptoms??

What day are you girls testing????

Hi! I peaked in b/c my first son was a Clomid baby but then saw the other sub topics! haha. My husband is English and I actually found out I was pregnant with my son in a little town in Western Canada. I've covered a whole lot of both sides of Canada (even Nanaimo! beautiful country). Anyway I hate politics so I'll only say one thing (having seen both side of the health care debate as a "consumer" not on the professional side of it) if you had the socialized or nationalized health care you wouldn't be able to afford the private options. Sad but true. Only the wealthy can. Just ask an Englishman (don't know if it's the same for you in the Great White North) what he pays in taxes for the NHS....we won't be able to tell you because they tax EVERYTHING and put it in a huge pot so the average citizen doesn't know what the devil he pays for what. You think our gas prices are high here? Lord! It's b/c of taxes in England. I digress...

Clomid...I have a beautiful little 4 year old brilliant boy because of it. It wasn't fun - I experienced a lot of icky symptoms while taking it but it only took ONE cycle and we were preggers! Best of luck. OH...and we BD'd every day.

Baby dust!

HEEELLLLLOOOO!!!!!

Margaret - no test results back....my follow-up appointment is on the 28th b/c my dr. is going out of town all next week. I may call in a couple days though anyway just cause I'm impatient. I think I'm going to test this Sunday if AF doesn't doesn't show up (not sure how long my luteal phase will be but I'll be 11 DPO then).

Aisha - Sorry about that horrible infection! Ouchy! YES - You should bedazzle up your thighs with some Patty's Day bling!

DMPage - Thanks for your input on our little healthcare discussion! Seems like it sucks everywhere! Did you ever stop cramping? Thanks for sharing your clomid success story! I love to hear those!

Hey Teacher, you're so sweet and your memory is certainly good! I don't know how you keep everybody straight! But, yes...I got the progesterone last night and the cramping has stopped. I don't know if one is related to the other but so far soo good!

Love the bedazzle idea!! LMAO! I would love to be a fly on the wall there! :D

I don't blame you for being impatient, my dear! Most of us on here have been through just so much that we don't have to be patient, darn it! Test away! Call your heart out but most importantly...keep us updated! We're all pulling for you! I'm pulling for all of you!

Ok ladies, if I can find some Patty's bling I'm doing it! LoL

Victoria- I say go ahead and call. It's natural to be impatient about such things. But on a positive note, if there is anything really wrong they HAVE to let you know as soon as they get the results so no phone call may be a good thing.

Maragaret- I'm going to start testing this weekend most likely! I will be 10 dpo on Saturday.

DMPage- Thanks for the success story! It makes my heart flutter knowing you got your baby your first cycle on clomid. If I remember correctly from another thread you are pg right now but worried because of thyroid troubles? How are you doing now? When do you get your progesterone? And if I have you mixed up with someone else I apologize.

Hello Ladies!

I have been away from my computer for a while b/c I've been busy, busy, busy! As if my life weren't crazy enough we are getting ready to move! Sheesh!

Anyways.... Happy St. Patty's Day everyone!

Aisha - How did your appointment go? Did you end up decorating your thighs?

I have been EXTREMELY bloated, veiny, and itchy!!!! I normally have oodles of symptoms so I don't know what's from the clomid, my head, or a potential pregnancy...we shall see.

Hi ladies!

Victoria- Those are all good signs, especially veiny- not many things cause that! I'm getting super excited for you!

My appointment went well. Unfortunately I couldn't find any temporary tattoos so I ended up just getting really goofy green thigh-high socks to wear instead! The good news is that I just have a super bad yeast infection and no bacteria this time so with the prescription meds (which are preggo safe) I should feel better soon.

I'm 8dpo and no real symptoms (which may be a good thing since in the past I had "symptoms" when I hadn't even ovulated ) The only real sign I have is another temperature spike. My temps have been super high for the last two days- over 0.4 degrees higher than what they had been since I Oed. I was going to test on Saturday since that will be 10 dpo, but my dh will be around for the weekend and I don't want to do it when he's there because if I get a bfn I will be really mopey and down and we won't enjoy our weekend together and at 10dpo there are good chances of getting a bfn even if I am preggo. So I think I will wait til Monday if I can.... when are you testing?
