2017 IUI/IVF

Hey ladies! I have an 18 month old daughter from my 6th round of IVF back in 2014 and we have started the process of trying for baby #2 in 2017. We may do a couple IUI rounds before using our frozen embryos from 2014. Any ladies who will be doing IUI or IVF in the new year?

Actually I just checked - the beta is on Sunday so that helps a little. I haven't home tested bc I'm too scared to see a negative. We did all of this out of pocket - about just under 20 thousand in total, so no, we won't be doing it again. I figure if it's meant to be, it will happen...at least that's how I feel on sane days!

12 follicles on each side?? That's amazing!!!

Ok I'm freaking out right now!!!! I just took a test bc I had too much time on my hands - literally decided in the span of 15 seconds and quickly peed on a stick bc I just wanted it to be over with...and I got a very faint POSITIVE?!?!?!?!? I cannot believe it!!!!!! I was sure it was going to be stark white!!!!

Oh my gosh that is so exciting!!!!! Hoping it's a sticky one for you!

Ours was all out of pocket too.. I don't understand why insurance isn't required to cover these things but I know how you feel..

Hey Girls - I just wanted to chime in and throw something out there just in case it might help someone!

I noticed this thread because mnor (who started it) and I both went through our first IVF experience together and I saw she was trying again (Hi Mnor!!). My husband and I have tried for nearly 7 years to get pregnant on our own - with a successful IVF which became my now 2 year old son in between! It took us months of clomid, 4 IUI's, 1 cancelled IVF due to poor response and then 1 successful one. A couple months ago I went back to the specialist to start working on baby #2... we had been trying since I was cleared from the last birth. Just last week I got my first EVER positive pregnancy test on my OWN!! We are in absolute SHOCK to say the least. Reason I'm sharing is because I literally tried everything under the sun before moving to IVF previously... I randomly decided to try a supplement I found on Amazon called Ovulex. The first month - I actually ovulated on time. The second month - BAM - I'm pregnant. I've also been taking progestrone pills prescribed by my regular OB for quite some time. The combination somehow worked!! First beta was 71 and my second that came back yesterday is 807!!

I just wanted to give you ladies some hope!! It will happen for you one way or another. If for some reason your IVF is unsuccessful, give this Ovulex stuff a chance!!! You never know!! Best of luck to all of you - I know how hard the journey is. I'll be thinking about y'all!!

If only ovulation was my problem.. but I ovulate every month like clock-work. I too have been through the gamut. 4 failed IUI's and all the rest but unfortunately my problem is adenomyosis. Hoping the extended "menopause" helped. Ultrasounds show it has definitely improved so I'm cautiously optimistic (but not going to get my hopes up). Hopefully it can help someone out there!

Thank you Brandy257,

Appreciate your kind words - will let you know about the beta on sunday. We also did five IUIs for our first one - it took on the fifth try. The amount of money we have spent on this stuff is crazy.

Hi again ladies, beta test confirmed today that I am pregnant with one baby - very relieved because I was afraid it was twins because we transferred two embryos and that would have been too much to deal with...good luck to everyone on here and I look forward to reading more bfp stories!

Congratulations Violet123!!!! You must be so excited! They will be doing two for us as well! Driving to an appointment now to make sure I'm responding to the meds.

Hi ladies I'm new here . Hubby and I have been ttc for about 2 years now. we just finished up our testing and our follow up appt is next week . We've been talking on which way to go if we will try iui first or jump to ivf and also possibly ivf for gender of choice . Any input would be great :)

And good luck to all you ladies

Hey Brandy,

Thank you! My second beta is this morning, just to make sure the numbers are doubling. I'm glad they did two, as it looks like only one took - when is your approximate transfer date? How did the appointment go?

Two and one - We did an IUI that failed and then went right into IVF - seemed like for us, the chances were better for success with ivf because I'm older - and to do a bunch of iui cycles basically costs the same as one ivf cycle...would be curious to know what they recommended for you.
