@Essemkay - what was his reasoning for switching clomid days? I have been taking it CD 5-9 and am thinking I will try CD 3-7 next month. My follicles the first month on 5-9 were 19 and 20 and this monthly they were 18 and 21, so I'm wondering if 3-7 would make them any bigger, but I also don't want more than two, and I have had other follicles, just much smaller (next biggest this month was 13).

Thoughts?

Basia - I totally agree, Acupuncture is super relaxing. I started around the middle of march and I go in once a week and then within 24 hours of my IUI cycle. I'm not sure how it all works but I know when they worked on my back, I went in feeling like I could barely move and left feeling amazing and definitely pain free.

essemkay - I'm sorry that this cycle isn't looking good for you.

AFM - I'm still spotting a bit but other than that I'm trying to relax and recover from the CP. Since I won't be trying another round of IUI until sometime in May I figure I might as well enjoy myself.

Margie - FYI after AF I was spotting for a long long time. Basically 13 days of some sort of bleeding. But I feel good now. I just want to warn you that you might be bleeding for a while.

WhileImWaiting - I believe to give my lining a few more days chance to respond to the estrogen after finishing the clomid before ovulation. Clomid is an estrogen blocker, it works by making your body think your estrogen levels are low so it thinks your follicles aren't growing, so your body kicks up your FSH production to try to make your follicles grow and raise your estrogen. But estrogen is also what makes your lining nice and thick, so blocking it hinders that. Especially in women like me that already had linings on the thin side.

@Basia - I go to acupuncture avg every 3 weeks but I've been going since July and she is usually checking up on the supplements she's given me. Also, I met with her the day I got the confirmation about my blighted ovum. She said she would get the process going too and I would probably bleed later that day and I did. It's in the ankles. She said the pressure points in the ankles can start bleeding and that's why pregnant women are warned about getting the massage that usually comes with pedicures.

AFM: Today is a new day for me, ladies!! Saw my new RE on CD3 today. My DH count was up to 40 million! It's not a ton but it's way more than before so that was exciting. RE also said I had about 5-6 follies going. He wants to do a HSG or hysteroscopy just to check everything since it's been almost 18 mos since I had a check before we do any procedure.

So there are three options. Option 1: IUI with injectables. Option 2: IVF. Option 3: wait a month. He gave me a Rx for BCPs and I could basically start the IVF process today and have a pregnancy test around June 17th. I couldn't believe it. I thought I would be forced to wait a month.

DH will be talking tonight. As much as I want to move forward, I've got to look at financing and see if there are any grants, etc, I could maybe take advantage of. I have 24 hrs to make a decision because final day to start BCPs is tomorrow! EEK!

Basia - my bleeding has slowed down a lot but I still get some. Luckily the RN from the clinic I go to told me that I was likely to have spotting for a while after. I think it might be almost done but that may just be wishful thinking.

Margie - I had spotting just like that - it lasted forever ;) One day it even stopped and then next it was back. Hang in there it will stop eventually.

Is anyone taking CoQ10? My acupuncturist suggested I start taking it. She also changed my prenatal vitamins. Literally I have 8 pills a day to take. The prenatal vitamins are in a pack of 6 (per day) and CoQ10 is 2x a day. Crazy but hopefully it will help. I compared my old prenatal to new ones and the new ones are higher dosage and have much more vitamin D and B

I take CoQ10. Or, when I can find it, Ubiquinol. Supposedly, the ubiquinol form is more readily absorbed than the coq10 form - but I don't know how effectively different or better that makes it in the doses we take.
