So I am back from the RE. We talked and I asked a lot of questions. We did sonogram and my uterus and ovaries and everything looks good. I talked to him and asked why IVF failed. He said that there is no explanation why. It was so early so they can't tell if there was something wrong with embryo or if it did not implant all the way. But for IVF #2 we are making some changes. I used ganirelix to suppress LH and this time we will use Lupron so I will use that before AF even shows up. This way he said they have more control over everything but it is much more stabbing which I can take. Also I used progesterone sesame oil and they are switching me to a different one. It looks like I did have an alergic reaction to it so to be safe we will switch. It is a bit unusual that out of 11 fertilized eggs only 2 made it and they are hoping that with other drugs we can control that a bit better.
When we started this process a year ago we did some genetic screening and at that point they checked whole bunch of different things - I guess tested 104 possible genetic mutations/diseases and I was good to go :) So the RE told me that we did test for different blood clothing issues so he does not want to do anything extra at this point. I guess I am ok with that.
So at the end of the May I most likely will be starting Lupron and then in June do IVF :) Fingers crossed that we get more embryos this time and that I do actually get pregnant and the baby (or babies ;) stick

Basia - that sounds like it went fairly well. FX that June will be your month.

AFM - the clinic called with my numbers and said they were at 2. They told me that I have to wait a cycle before TTC again and using some form of protection. DH isn't super happy about that. So I guess I'm out until sometime in May. Hopefully the second time works.

@basia - it sounds like your appointment went really well and was probably so reassuring to meet back up with your doctor. You are going to start accpunture as well right? I am excited about your new treatment plan. That is interesting about the amount of eggs that made it. We only had four out of 16 that fertilized. From what i read, that is pretty normal, but i guess maybe it's not?

@browni- I am going to totally blame pregnancy brain...but, have you had a beta?

My progesterone came back today at 35, so I don't have to supplement! Yay!

Basia, i guess your meeting got your hopes up and that is good! It is also vey good that things move quickly, a waiting would might cause stress. I feel like this at the moment, as even my af delayed me from a ttc naturally, and i see things totally black!

Margie, try to enjoy during this waiting cycle!

While, good luck dear! I think you are in the beginning of 2ww? I hope by the end of the month to have the great news!

@Kethryes - today I am 5 DPIUI. So yes, just waiting. ugh! I should know by next Friday/Saturday.

I am 7 days past trigger and still have a line when I tested today. I will test daily form here on out, testing that line out!

Hi, ladies! It's been quiet so I hope that means everyone has had a busy and fun weekend!

I just saw a new RE today. Not sure what I think just yet. I gave him my history and basically laid out my concerns (other docs not evaluating me, just doing IUI without other tests, etc). He said that he will give me as much or little attention as I need. He wants us to give him up to date tests so DH needs to do SA tomorrow and I need to do bloodwork this week. Based on that he can give more of a firm direction on how to head but he was leaning towards IVF based on what we told him.

I did feel good talking to him because he just was open and sounded like many of the REs you all refer to on here. Only thing that sucked was the cost of doing an IUI with injectibles is $1500 to $2000! Nearly lost my cookies on that one. If it's so expensive then I'd rather put it towards IVF.

DH and I talked a little about it on the drive home. He's all for IVF and ready to just do it. We were going to move into a new home but all of that would have to be put on hold for now. Guess we'll make a decision this week. AF should come this week, too.

Red - injections are super expensive. Good luck and i hope you and your husband will decide soon and that this decision will not be stressful. Let us know what you decide.
