@Cryslynn - it seems that the blue dye tests are more prone to eval - have you tried FRER or wondfos?

@Cryslynn - also, the digitals pick up higher levels of HCG, so it may just not be positive yet. I would get a red dye test!

Here is an article I found comforting to myself after experiencing a false positive last month and such a light positive this month. I've had a lot of people (not on here)discredit my faint positive and I find that frustrating because it did appear in the aloted time frame. So many people are quick to call it an evaporation line because its a blue dye test. I did some research and here is what I read.

An evaporation line is just what it sounds like -- a line caused by evaporation of your urine. Sometimes the evaporation line highlights the antibody strip and causes it to look faintly positive, and sometimes the second line looks gray or like an indentation. These results should not be considered positive even if they look like a "real" positive result an hour later.

Put the stick down!

One way to avoid evaporation lines altogether is to get rid of your pregnancy test as soon as the time limit is up. Set a timer, note the time or keep track on your watch. If there isn't a positive result, toss it in the trashcan. Better yet, throw it in the dumpster behind a restaurant, dismantle it and put as much as you can through a shredder or run over it with your car. It can be so tempting to dig the test back out and check to see if it has "turned positive" but try to resist. It's so much better for your mental health to avoid the torture!

What if it shows up in the time limit?

If an "evap line" shows up in the time limit then it probably isn't an evaporation line -- it probably is a positive result! You may feel the urge to disregard a very faint positive, especially if you've experienced evaps before, but generally tests don't turn positive within the time limit unless you are pregnant. Sometimes it can be beneficial to wait until after your period is due to take a test because as your pregnancy progresses your hCG will rise and may turn a test darker.

I hope this information helps y'all! And gives you hope when these stupid sticks drive us nuts :)

@Cryslynn - thanks for sharing that. So, was your test last month in the time frame?

Fingers crossed for you. I think that's the hardest part of the TWW, the days right around testing. It can be rather excruciating. Hoping you get a positive on a digital soon!

I have finally officially ovulated!! My body and temps have been so confusing this cycle that my FF chart is confused too. Lol I had full ovulating signs (EWCM and ovulating cramps) on both CD 13 and CD 15. My temp even went up after both days. But, it went up enough today that now I'm sure I O'd. Maybe I tried to O on the 13th but didn't until the 15th, who knows. So I'm not going to worry about which one is correct. I'll just start testing according to my original plans on November 6th. Since I'm a POASaholic it's not really a big deal as long as I eventually see that BFP.

Happy Saturday everybody!!
