Anyone Testing This Week or Next Week??

I'm expecting AF tomorrow and I really hope that she has decided to leave me alone for a while or more like 9 months. I'm going to be testing in the morning tomorrow but I'm scared and very anxious.

Anyone else that's on just about the same cylce or any words of encouragement.

Good Luck to you ladies!

Hey folks hope you are all doing well.

AF should have been due today but because my last cycle was an mmc I really don't know when to expect my period. I got ewcm a few days after I typically have it so everything is a little off this cycle. Sides of my boobs are sensitive though and I don't have boob issues outside of cycles of ttc.

@ twwtoolong
Such great advice! I think the best way for me to do it is exactly what you mentioned, thanks. I managed to stay vegetarian for a decade by always allowing myself the option of meat but I never ordered it. Guess this is the same principle. Now that I have a stash of tests I actually feel a lot calmer and actually have spent the past few days thinking about things other than testing. Funny how the mind works eh. Being calmer is a great side-effect I wasn't expecting.

I have managed to remain off the testing and I'm 12dpo so just want to wait another three days. Just can't bear a BPF followed by AF. Would rather it be the other way around so as to avoid getting my hopes up and then come crashing down.

Love and baby dust to us all, xx

lucidity - My fingers are crossed for you! It's so odd but totally true, just having tests in the house makes the wait easier. Maybe it's just the fact of knowing that you could test anytime if you wanted to!
Please keep up posted!

I should be ovulating Monday- ish - haven't gotten a strong positive on opk yet, but haven't tested yet today. We just decided to BD each day last week, up until mid next week to hopefully catch a sticky bean!

How is everyone doing with the tww? Any symptoms - or are you just trying to keep calm and not read too much into things?

Xoxojadorecouture- thank you and my fingers are crossed for you too as well hun. I hope this is it for you. How are things going with you? I love the PreSeed. It's amazing. Definitely keep us updated when you test. Good luck!

Lucidity-So what happened did you end up testing? I have my fingers crossed for you! I hopeyou canget yourpositive thiscycle. You aren't out just yet. Try to stay positive as much as you can. Good luck! I really do hope that the witch stays away!

Twwtoolong-keep bding as much as you can. How arethe Opks coming. Did you get your strong positive yet. I'm cheering over her for you hun I hope you can catch the egg and it becomes a sticky baby! Good luck!

Good luck ladies try to keep positive as much as you can. I'm cheering and have my fingers crossed for all of you ladies.

So an update on me, I'm kind of a little worried. I started getting positives on my OPKs cd 10. Then I continued to get positives everyday after that. Today I got another positive but it isn't as dark as the control line but is dark enough. Anybody knows what this means or why this happening. I've tried to research it but there's so many reasons. I'm not on any medication. I know I ovulated because I had the pain on my right side like I normally do. I've been having on and off cramps ever since I ovulated. AF last month was a bit light and not really normal. Idk I'm just a little worried. Any thoughts ladies? ? I'll upload the most recent picture to myprofile so you guys can see.

HopefullyAMommy - The opk's are doing well, had a faint line on Saturday and it was darker yesterday, but still not as dark or darker than the control line so I suspect I will get a positive today.
Opk's are detecting an luetinizing hormone (LH) surge that triggers progesterone to start ovualtion. So a test is only considered positive when the test line is as dark or darker than the control line (different than pregnancy tests), detecting the big surge in LH.

The big surge is what signals your body to release progestrone and sends the hopefully stick egg on it's way! Our eggs only last 12-24 hours, but sperm can last a couple of days, so that's why they say to bd a few days before ovulating and one-two days after - in case you picked up the surge on the way up.

LH will take a few days to subside after the big surge (hence luteal phase) - but any tests where the test line is not as dark or darker than the control line is not considered a positive. So no need to panic if there is still LH in your system, it just takes a few days for it to come back down to barely detectable levels. I'll post some pics of mine later today once I get what expect to be my positive OPK- from looking at yours I would say you surged cd 12-13 - so would have ovulated cycle day 14-15. Did you bd during cd's 11-14/15? If so than you are totally covered!

Also, what is the detection level on your tests? Mine are only 25 ug/ml - so I definitely see a big difference between the test and control line. To be honest I stop testing once I get a positive (test line darker than control line).

The reason that I started temping this month is that the opk's only detect the LH surge that should trigger the progestrone to release the egg - progestrone is what will raise your body temp - so in reading (which I have done a lot of, if you couldn't tell - lol), seeing a temp raise is one of the only ways at home to truely confirm you have actually ovulated. Temping is rubish for predicting though, since the temp spike only happens once you have ovulated and you'd only have a 12-24 window to make anything happen. I have only gone to this extent because it has been so long (1 yr and 7 mo) trying and I am getting so close to 35, when things apparently get really difficult.

lucidity - Any word? Have you been waiting to test still? We are here either way!

Good luck ladies! TWW likely starts for me tomorrow!

twwtoolong-I don't know if I'm good then because i only baby danced cd 10-12. CD 13-15 DH was at work and our work schedules were very conflicting. I mean I hope that will be enough to at least catch the little egg. I mean when I felt the OV pain i made sure to BD, but now I'm trying not to worry. I really do hope that this is my chance because I need to order more OV sticks for my next cycle, but I"m really hoping that I wouldn't have to use them at all. I'm hoping that I can get my positive this cycle. I don't want to get my hopes up and then they come crashing down.

I hope your going to BD the next couple of days as well since you are starting to see faint positives so far. Don't worry about your age, its just a number and You will definitely concieve without any issues you just have to keep your mind to it. Im believing in you! Keep up with the temping and the OPKs. Ive been trying for a about 1.5 already and still nothing, and this is my first time using the OPKS. I might just start temping like you because I would really like to know when it actually happens.

Thank you for all the advice on the OPKs as well. Because I was here looking everything up on Google, and I'm sure you know how that can go. Everyone is telling their stories and it's all kinds of different things.

Good Luck!!

What's up folk?

@ HopefullyAMommy
I think timing BDing can be really difficult as well and (please take this with a pinch of salt) but apparently BDing days before o'ing is meant to help bring out the X sperm so we are likely to have a girl, while BDing very close to or on O'ing allows those faster Y sperm to race their way to the egg. So BDing seems like its kinda an art not a science (which I guess it is, for the pleasure :o)

@ Twwtoolong
Wow, thanks for the background info. You are very knowledgeable on these things. I agree with HopefullyAMommy on age. I realise that the younger the easier things are meant to be but this does not mean that older mum should waste too much sleep over it. As a testament to this, I am testing tomorrow and I'm 36. If it ain't a BFP then, ah well, we still have cycle a plenty in front of us ;o) I mean we do right...? Ha ha

Clouds of baby dust to rain down on us all. Let it thunder xxx

lucidity-Thank you because I would definitely love if I were to have a boy or girl, but I want to have a little girl so bad. That definitely gives me some great and needed hope. I was starting to worry that I didnt do it enough to increase my chances. Good luck with your testing tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed for you. I hope you get to see your BFP! Definitely have more cycles to try again!! I'm not giving up on you ladies and neither should you give up on you whether your age!!

xoxojadorecouture-Thank you I definitely will take information that you can give. I was actually trying to use the clearblue digis, but they never worked for me at all. I always got the error sign. I always did what the directions said, but it never worked, I mean I will definitely give it a try again and see what happens. I made sure to BD on the days I felt my OV pain, and I will make it my duty to do it today since I missed CD 13-15. I just hope that I'm not out. Thank you and how is everything going with you?

lucidity/HopefullyAMommy- I have heard the same thing about timing it early for a girl! I totally think you got a couple of really good days in there. Some research says it's better not to BD too often as it can result in not as good swimmers - but an extra day can never hurt!! My fingers are crossed for you!

lucidity- thank you for the encouragement - I have a close friend who started trying around 35-36 and after 2 years of trying started fertility treatment and is 2 years, 3 failed cycles of IVF and is going in for her second surgery on her uterus, so I think I am overly sensitive! It's so odd - I teach the physiology of growth and development, so I know how it's all supposed to happen, but you just don't realize how hard it is until you start trying! I hope you get your BFP!!!!

You ladies are just awesome- gonna test with an opk soon, will let you know how it goes!!!

Twwtoolong-reading what you wrote definitely made me feel better. Even though I'm not looking to much into my symptoms to much. I really do hope that I got this cycle. I have been having cramping on and off so I'm hoping this is my cycle. Keep your fingers crossed for me ladies. However I did order more OPKs just in case but I'm hoping that the witch stays away for 9 months. I'm definitely going to bd tonight!

Definitely try to stay confident and try not to stress. I'm sure it's worse when you know how everything works too. I'm sure it makes your mind wonder. I'm paying for you hun I know it will definitely happen sooner than you even expect.

*HUGS*
