anyone been trying for 2 yrs or more out there?

It has been over 2 years of trying for me, I'm currently on lupron till the end of february, which means im in menopause so it kills off my remaining endo. I had surgery at the end of oct 2011 and thats what they found. they did manage to clear my tubes but put me on the lupron to kill off the microscopic endo that they couldn't get.. i don't know what is to happen next, but i know i cannot afford any major fertility treatments as dh insurance doesn't cover it :(.. Just wondering if there are any girls out there who are in my situation, and how do you really stay positive after over 24 months of ttcing? I really want a baby, if its the last thing i do, but financially the road may end soon. im just trying not to think about it.. and pleasedon't tell me its in gods hands and it will happen, because after more than 2 yrs,im tired of getting my hopes up for nothing. yes im a little negative but wouldn't you be after this long.

hi there

i'm just going into my second year of trying for my first.

had a BFP end of september but that resulted in an ectopic and surgery to remove it and my left tube. I was due to see a specialist to see what issues were keeping us from getting preg (his sperm is great apparently!) but cancelled it as I was pregnant! ironic hey seeing as by the date of the appointment i wasnt preg!

but the emergency surgery to remove the tube showed that i had endo which had caused scarring around my left tube and twisted it so much the egg didnt have room to get out which is why is stayed in the tube (why couldnt the stupid egg go out the other tube!!). Surgery removed the tube and endo, checked out my other tube and ovaries (all good) and i have been on the pill since to minimise any other endo stillhanging around. TTC start again VERY soon and I am getting impatient!! Off the pill now and am taking OPKs every day to see when i O has I have no idea now. just ordered a load more as well as a new thermometer so i can temp again too which i foudn helped me understand my cycle which we need as DH works away and is only home 2 weeks at a time. just have to hope that when O does start to happen again it does it at the right time to coinside with DH being home!

its hard to be positive when my sister in law and cousin are preg, two people at work are and my best mate is due TODAY (very happy for her but still sucks for me!)

but i believe that being negative just doesnt help. I need to stay positive to encourage my body to do good things. If i get too down i end up in a sprial of despair which never ends well. Today hasnt been a good day but there is nothing to get upset over at the moment as BFP could be after the next cycle and with not being allowed to try right now I cant get upset about no BFP as there is no chance of one anyway!

Aromatherapy - never heard of being put into a menopausal state to help with endo! hope it works for you! I think negativity does keep you in a reality check but I hope it doesnt get the better of you too much. I keep telling myself that there are other things to be positive about and to look forward to (like buying our new house!) so i hope you have other good things to keep you happy!

clivencleo - i am shocked you have been trying for 4 years and not had any tests!! I didnt last past 6 months before I sent DH off for sperm tests and I had blood tests done to check hormone levels. I wanted to know sooner rather than later if there was an issue so it could be tackled straight away. For me, while it was bad to find out there was an issue with me, it was good to then have a way forward. I think it helped me cope with the loss of my first pregnancy better. the not knowing drives me insane!! Hope your appointment goes well and you get answers that aren't too scary or at least ones that come with a solution. would be interested in what they are is you care to share.

Thompson6609 - what is provera? I thought it was a type of birth control which seems a bit weird to take at the same time as Clomid? I must have mis understood something as why would you have something to stop you getting pregnant while being on something to stimulate your ovaries to get your pregnant??!!

Basically, TTC sucks!! Yet we still try and try...!!

krunchie 29 welcome to our little thread!!! I did ask the dr about birthcontrol to help with the endo but he said that the lupron which im on to put me into a temporary state will do a better job of killing off the microscopic bits that he couldn't see. b.c. pills do work but not as good, and i was on b.c. for alot of yrs and still had endo, so i guess thats why im on the lupron. its a pretty heafty drug thats for sure, and is to be used only a max. of 6 months,so i guess being on it for 3 won't be as bad.. im hoping it does work. as for being positive im more positive now than i was 6 months ago when it felt like my world was coming to an end. im what you call in the 4th stage of death where i have accepted it,but i did go through denial, grief, anger, first before the acceptance came.. im definatley more at peace with it now... It;s been a long journey but i WILL get my bfp, i might be closer to 40 when it happens but i still have 4 more yrs to do it..

Hello all,
I have not been trying for quite 2 years yet so it's ok if I need to be disqualified from the thread :). But I am having very similar conditions to some of you so wanted to reply.

I found via lap that I have stage 4 endo that had totally destroyed one of my tubes and it had to be removed. It also damaged one of my ovaries with a endo cyst, and the doc wasn't able to get all of the endo off that ovary, bc didn't want to risk having to remove the whole thing. So I basically have one good tube and one good ovary...but they are on the opposite sides!

I had only been feeling extreme pain with my periods for 6 months before I had the lap, but thank god I did it when I did since things were so bad. The doc said it had been growing in there much longer than the 6 months I'd been feeling pain.

Since the endo is mostly cleared out at the moment my doctor advised me to try IVF. so we are starting that now since my insurance from work will cover one try. HOWEVER...if my working tube and ovary were on the same side I would be continuing to try naturally for a while longer!!!

I started getting acupuncture and my girl says that thru acupuncture I could even still get pregnant naturally so...I dunno, maybe worth a try and cheaper than IVF for those of you who are into that sort of stuff and are willing to give it a shot!

Fingers crossed for everyone!!

hi chefchic and WELCOME hon.. you will most definatly not be disqualified as you are the closest situiation to mine there is,but i still have both tubes and ovarys... i can't see how honestly you could get pg as the egg needs the tube to make it to the uterus, with no tube,it will float somewhere and possibly be fertilized but implant on some other organ, and then you are in trouble.. I say go for the ivf NOW if it is covered. for me its not so i am having to do things diffrently, per the lap and the lupron to kill off the endo.. its very weird as i had no real tell tale syptoms either. my periods were regular and not heavy at all,but ce la vie thats all in the past and we must move on and deal with our situations in our own ways.. i hope you find comfort in our little thread, its for good days, bad days and allllllll those other days in between.. and WE al will ge our BFPs it just is going to be longer and more expensive for us,but when we do we will treasure it more than anyone could imagine because we have worked so dam hard for it..

I was told by my surgeon that either tube can pick up eggs from either tube! I was worried after having one tube removed but my chances are 80% as I still have two ovaries and my one tube can pick up eggs from both! So having one of each on either side doesn't mean it's impossible, just harder

Hi krunchie29! I don't know if provera has other uses or not....but I have always used it to start my periods. Sometimes my periods do not start on their own so my doctor prescribed provera to start it so I can move on with Clomid or injectables currently.

I just took my last pill yesterday of Provera...so hopefully my period starts soon so I can start injectables! I am so excited to start something new!

As Aromatheraphy advised, i did. I just wanted to share..

First Step : Jan. 09, 2012

I change my OB-gyne. The one i choose is very approachable. Looks like interested in my case. SO, then we start: Q.& A.
1. What is the problem? **We cant concieved for 2 yrs. now.
2. How's ur cycle? **Very regular. (she checked my list and said its still normal.)
3. What medicines/vitamins are you taking? **EPO, folic acid, vit. e, pre-natal vits.
4. Epo? for What? **pms cramps and help to ovulate..
5. You always have cramps? How long lasts ur dysmenorhea? **Not much, about an hour..ON and OFF.

OB: Ok i have check u first..
Vaginal check up. She insert some tools for a second then took out. She put lubricant and insert her finger, then pressing my lower abdomen for a minute. Nothing is hurt. After a while, its NORMAL.
The first thing she did when i lay down, check my breasts.
OB: You are cd3 today. After AF, come back for ultra sound and smear.
As per sop, you have to inject anit-viral infections..as preparations for pregnancy..so we can start on your next cycle.

Back to Q&A
6. Husband: What is the possible cause why we cant concieved? **May be she's not ovulated even she has regular period, infertility Or because of polycystic ovary, Which we have to find out after the next procedure. Also, you have to do semen analysis because 40% MAN is the problem, sperm mutility..
7. Me: May be i dont ovulate because i dont see the clear white cervical mucus during ovulation? **Oh the strechy one, Not all women have encountered that CV and they are ovulating but 80% does.
8. Me: Can you give me some vitamins? No. For now you can take vitamin C. Vitamin E wont help you get pregnant..it just make your skin beautiful. And continue your folic acid pls..

OB: Go back on thursday for ultrasound and smear. After 2 weeks, i'll check if there is mature follicles, then i will tell you when to have sex.
I cant promise you that you can get pregnat..BUT all i can promise you is to INCREASE your chances of GETTING pregnant..

Costs: 1,550 Php. ( Infertility or related case not covered by the insurance company. :-/ )
Next session. Thursday 01/12/12

Any comments or suggestions is very much apppreciated..
