Question

Anyone know how common it is to ovulate twice in one cycle?

I know, most likely I only ovulated once. This has been the strangest cycle, though. I had EWCM and a high/soft cervix starting on day 6 of my cycle, although I had been testing already with opk's and had not had a positive result since the previous cycle. (I did have some that were *close* to + and wondered if I missed a surge or got a bad batch of opk's - they are the internet cheapies.) Anyway. Unfortunately, I did not test w/ opk's on day 7 or 8 of my cycle, due to being out of town and having to share the bathroom between 2 families in a tiny beach condo. I got + tests for a few hours on day 10 of my cycle (yesterday) and cervix returned to high/soft/open position (it had been lower on Sunday, making me think I had ovulated on Saturday). Here's the kicker: if I put my opk + into the BBT chart, I get an o date of June 12 (day 11). But if I only enter my temps/cervical info (no opk's), I get an o date of June 9 based on temps. Thoughts? I know...doesn't matter...just curious...

Oh! Maybe I should add that I had very severe O cramps/pains on the right side on Saturday (the first possible O date) and have not felt anything like that today, although the day is young!

I would say go with the day you felt the ovulation pains and maybe the day after just in case. You can ovulate twice but it has to be with in 24 hours of the first ovulation. Its very rare to ovulate twice any later then that in one cycle. Is there anyway we can see your chart?

Oh forgot to add if ovulation was on the cd9 then you could have caught the last of the lh on cd10 and depending on when you dropped the egg that would leave your cervix in show position for a bit. :-)

Oh! Let me see if I can set my chart for viewing. I forgot that wasn't automatic.

I think the earlier temp is an outlier (abnormal reading), from your chart the 12 th looks like your O day to me. Are you managing to test consistently at the same time? I also found that leaving the AC off makes my temps slightly higher, was there any change in weather?

Thanks for your input!! I have had some wacky temps. I took the temp for the 7th out but then put it back in, if that is the one you mean? I did not feel well that morning (cold, allergies, not sure) but it seemed excessively high. Anyway, I temp between 530 am and 630 am all the time- most often 6 am which is what my alarm is set for. It's been HOT here consistently, I think, but we have AC...not sure if that helps. I think you could be right about the 12th- I had talked myself into the 10th or 11th and then I ended up having some cramps that may have been O pains. Oddly, I thought I felt severe O pains on Sat the 9th when we were at the beach, and today it was on the opposite side and milder? Maybe Sat's pain was a muscle spasm? So confusing!!
