Referral to Maternal Fetal Center
Hello, I am currently pregnant and due 11/15/18. I just recieved a call that I was referred to a maternal fetal center for an ultrasound by my obgyn. I am 32 years old and this is my 4th pregnancy. Any reason why they’d refer me? I had my first ultrasound 3/23/18. I was only 6w1d and they had to do ultrasound via vaginal to see the heartbeat. Only thing my Obgyn said is I’ll need a repeat ultrasound on my next visit (4/19/18) to confirm due date. Just curious if this is common. TIA!

Some places send you out due to better equipment, etc, I can’t imagine they could detect anything from your early US that’d indicate a cause for alarm. Now if you had blood work done for chromosomal issues (which I think you’re way too early for) then maybe but I think you’re fine.

Also, if you are concerned why don’t you call and ask why you are being sent out, won’t hurt to be a little forward if you are concerned after all it’s your baby
