Prostate gland and sperm causing infection or pain?

I had my 2nd IUI yesterday and was in severe pain until this morning. I'm still pretty sore but a lot better than yesterday. I had a high temperature as well. Almost like I had an infection. I could hardly walk yesterday! I didnt'w want to take painkillers and kill all the sperm but I eventually gave in and took two panado which did absolutely nothing! They told me it's the prostate gland in the semen that causes it? Has anyone heard of anything like that before?

prostrate gland in semen?
confused!! IT MUST BE PROSTAGLANDINS (PG) they are of different types and are important messenger in pain pathway.. they are blocked by analgesics and antipyretics to reduce inflammatory reaction.
In semen, the function of the prostate is to secrete a slightly alkaline fluid, milky or white in appearance,[5] that usually constitutes 20â??30% of the volume of the semen along with spermatozoa and seminal vesicle fluid.
In human prostatic secretions, the protein content is less than 1% and includes proteolytic enzymes, prostatic acid phosphatase, and prostate-specific antigen. The secretions also contain zinc with a concentration 500â??1,000 times the concentration in blood.
so i think ur doc were telling of PG's which u misinterpreted.
I hope u r well now.. with BFP..
