Tmi period question

Why would a period start out light go normal for a day trial off light then pick back up again,for one day,then turn light then spot now im on day 8 and still had a spot this am I'm confused

I'm not sure. Are your periods always variable in flow or are they always predictably the same? It could be stress. Stress causes all sorts of physical things to happen to our cycles.
