Brown CM

Ok so I have been checking my cm regularly this cycle to help determine ovulation. I should be starting my period in a couple of days, but when I checked my CM the last couple of days it has been a light brownish color. There isn't any showing up on any pads, just when I actually check (sorry tmi). It had a little bit of a red spot with it once, but has just stayed a brownish color for two days now. I am hoping this is IB but I don't want to get my hopes up. I have gotten plenty of negative tests the last couple months and two this month. But if this is IB then I wouldn't get a positive for a couple more days. Anyone had something like this before?
