Update.....and a BFP yesterday at 9DPO

*Update: 11/9/16. 6 weeks, 2 days! Main symptoms are bloating, fatigue, and some nausea when I'm eating. Due to a conflict at work, I had to reschedule my first appt. and scan for 8 weeks, 1 day Nov. 22. The wait is hard. Hoping to see a healthy bean.

Hi dear ladies! It's been months since I've written anything, but I have been stalking and silently cheering for you all. (And congrats to Sandy on the birth of her little one!) My life has undergone some huge changes in the last year--all for the better I think. After I officially ended things with DH last fall (if you want the backstory, just check my old JE's), I wasn't so much sad as I was disappointed and feeling like I would never be with the right person, never have kids, etc. Anyway, I made an online dating profile hoping to maybe prove myself wring about all of the negative stuff and sure enough, I went on a date with one guy, and we really connected. He is one year younger than I am. He is more practical and analytical than I am (which is really helpful when it comes to finances and planning!) and works at an engineering firm. On August 9, while we were on a roadtrip and driving through Great Smoky Mountains National Park, he proposed. It was a special moment on a secluded overlook. And my dog was there with us, so that only made it better. Since May of this year we were NTNP. Though everything happened fast, we both knew that we wanted to be together in the long run (at 30, I feel the most sure and confident in what I want and intend to do than ever) and both want children more than anything else. I had gone back on the pill for 6 months prior, and my cycles looked kind of messed up--27 days instead of 29-30 and a late O date around CD 16-19. We started timing BD and I went back to charting. I didn't say anything about it here because I honestly had made up my mind that everything I was doing TTC-wise was useless. Also, I've been so stressed about my new job (which is also really rewarding. I'm teaching 2nd grade in an inner-city area my where we had a driveby shooting outside the school a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence for the children and their families. More on my career change later). Anyway, my last cycle was 27 days with an 8 day LP, so I was completely devastated and freaked out. I decided to take 1200 mg of Vitex daily since it had helped my LP length a little in the past. I also took prenatals and started a B50 complex after ovulation. We used Preseed and socftcups too.

This cycle was weird in several ways. I got high readings on CB digi advanced OPKs for 8 days straight before getting a peak reading. O was the latest it has been again CD 19. My temps rose enough but weren't super high. At 3 and 4 DPO I had this totally bizarre pinkish spotting that went away completely by 5 DPO. That's technically too early for IB, so who knows what it was. AF was due yesterday (based on cycle length). No spotting, just some gross-looking globby yellowish CM. I took some cheapies in the morning, and lines showed within 3 minutes. Did FRERS in the afternoon and evening and a CB digi came up "Pregnant 1-2 weeks" in the evening. 9 DPO is the earliest I've gotten a positive digi. Lines look a little darker today. Totally surprised.

I thought of waiting to tell DF, but couldn't contain the excitement. So I showed him the tests with lines (he was totally confused) and then the digi. His response was, "Oh, ok" (in shock I think) but later he was smiling really big and said, "I told you it would work" lol.

I am keeping my hopes up and am telling myself this is real. I want this to be my take-home baby, but what happens from here is out of my hands. Things I can do: I need to find a new OBGYN and make an appointment, since I had to change insurance in August. And I need to try to sleep. And teach my school babies.

I'm thinking of you ladies gemmalou, Emily, Tracy, Renae, Anne-Simone and rooting for your BFPs.

Don't stress hun, you can always go to a clinic and get your numbers. That's what I did. We have Patient First around virginia and they have there own lab so my numbers were given back very fast.

Thanks, Tracy! That's a good idea. I may be able to get I. With another doctor sooner. Will see. Getting first appointments as a new patient isn't easy I'm discovering. Hope you're doing well :) FX for your BFP
