Discovery of a Short Luteal Phase

Well, AF came to visit me today, along with a big temperature drop. This happened on 10 DPO, which is too early. I've already contacted my doctor to let her know and ask if I can be evaluated by an endocrinologist, given my PCOS diagnosis. I hope she doesn't tell me to go through another cycle first, since this last cycle was my first after stopping the pill. I really want to get the problem fixed ASAP.

What's interesting is that I just found out that Sarah (my sister) has higher than normal Prolactin levels. In Taking Charge of Your Fertility, Prolactin is specifically mentioned when talking about causes of a short luteal phase. At least I was charting so I could spot this problem right away! Hopefully there is a relatively easy solution, whether it is prolactin or progesterone or something else that is the culprit.

The heartbreaking thing is that I really do think I might have been pregnant, but my body was not able to sustain the pregnancy. Maybe this is not all bad though. Maybe it means that we can get pregnant, I just need to correct whatever hormonal imbalance I have.

Well I guess I can relax for a while and stop wondering if I'm pregnant.
