clomid and cycle date confusion.

My Dr put me on clomid this month and i start taking it on day 5. My problem is that i started bleeding more than spotting, like a normal peroid, for a few hours so i called and they ordered it it was cycle day one. then i stopped bleeding for the second half of the day i had nothing not even spotting. The following day i started bleeding again. So what i am wondering is if i should still count that first few hours of bleeding as day one of my cycle? or skip that and start with the first whole day as day 1?
