Question

Short luteal phase :(

PLEASE HELP!!! I have a very short luteal phase of just 8 days. The GP says there is nothing they can do and I've seen two different ones. I've tried B6, evening Primrose Oil, Vitex and progesterone cream and its still 8 days. Any other suggestions gratefully received. I'm sooo frustrated :( tks

Well I really hope u get ur BFP soon too. I have a 14 year old and 11 year old without even trying so I know how lucky I am. Being on the contraceptive pill for 11 years has stripped all my progesterone so let it be a warning to others. But its unfair that there are so many unwanted babies/pregnancies and others who are so desperate. Its made me look at things so differentely now.

after my mc I had a very short luthal phase for about 4 months ranging from 7 to 9 days, when I went the hospital with very heavy bleeding and clots, the dr gave me tablets to thin the blood out, and I mentioned my luthal phase, she said if it didnt dort itself out on its own, I could get progesterone, luckily it did even out the following month, but I do believe it is available in the uk if I was offered it, and there is no harm in trying surly.
I have read a lot of people in uk trying to get prescribed it, one lady said she went to her local hospital, others have said they had to go private :/ find it really stupid and mean that they are not interested, hope ya get it sorted out.

Thankyou, I think I'm gonna try another gp one last time and see if I can get anywhere, I may even show them all these posts!!! If not we may try a private fertility clinic just to see if they can help. I really don't want to go that route but its easier than moving to the USA !!! I really appreciate all your comments x

As others have mentioned, I would definitely give progesterone a shot. There are many different forms of it available -- aside from the the over-the-counter cream you've tried, there is prometrium (pill which can be taken orally or vaginally), endometrin (tablet taken vaginally), crinone (a gel taken vaginally) and progesterone-in-oil (an injection done intra-muscularly) just to name a few. Good luck!
