40+ TTC in 2015

Hello,
I had to scroll through so many pages to find recent ladies who are TTC and decided to open a new thread for 2015. This should make it easier to find friends and buddies who are going through the same emotional roller coaster of TTC in their 40's.
Is it worth opening a new thread monthly to keep it current?
Would also like to wish everyone the best of luck, the more people that get a BFP gives the rest of us hope so please don't forget to post.

Hi ladies,

Welcome Tracy!

Kerzie I am due for AF on Saturday, but being a poas addict I have been testing. Still waiting on my BFP! I am still on meds for the UTI that came on last week. Not sure if that effects testing.

Pinkster I agree that everything happens for a reason and in God's timing. We are all on the journey we are meant to be on.

Hi Kerzie,

I O'd last Friday, so I am 6 DPO. My cycle in December was totally screwed up so I think we used to align but we don't anymore.

I'm so sorry to hear you don't feel supported by those around you. That sucks! Hopefully you find some solace here. I am not supported either, but it's my fault because I have never told anyone we are trying. I'm the only chance for my dad to have a biological grandchild and I don't want to get his hopes up. If we don't ever succeed, I will tell him how hard we tried, in a few years.

I'm pretty sure this cycle is a bust. My temperatures say I O'd before my "peak" day so we didn't get out timing right (I use the clearblue fertility monitor.)

BTW. Another positive thing I have to say about Fertility Friend is that their chart search tool is AMAZING. For instance, you can search by your particular "problem." I just did and it was totally eye-opening. I entered "pregnant" with "male factor" and it showed me the last 200 charts to get a BFP. The Average Age was 31.2 and Average Months TTC was 17.3. So even younger women have a LOT of trouble when dealing with male factor! Wow. I didn't actually know it was that bad. In forums, success stories are sprinkled here and there but these hard facts are sobering. In a way though, I feel better, like I am not the only one with this problem, trying for so long. There are women in their early and mid twenties trying for 30+ months!

Anyway... Good luck this month, everyone!

Hello Ladies,

I'm new to the site and just thought I'd introduce myself. Hubby and I are TTC our first with no previous pregnancies. I'm 42 and he is 48. We've been officially trying for one month then AF reared her ugly head today. I'm optimistic it will happen in due time but fearful of all obstacles that are ahead of us. At any rate, I've been lurking the boards and think this is a good informative and supportive group.

Baby dust to everyone!

Hi everyone,
Done with the bd'ing and lying with my butt on a heap of pillows to allow gravity to work it's magic, my goodness it takes up too much time

Welcome to all the new ladies, I hope your ttc journey is successfully short.

Tracy, Eight grown kids, that is fantastic. I would have loved to have a large family. Have you tested yet?

Mommy, Congratulations and thanks for taking the time to give us all some much needed hope. Wishing you a

39, Did after stay away? Have you tested yet?

Fran, When are you going to test? I'm hoping you had a REALLY lazy egg and you caught it just in time . Now in the tww so have the time to copy old temps and put them in fertility friends, might come up with something new to look at plus it will keep me busy.
Remember that women who are successful tend not to join forums so your odds could be a bit higher. I know it will still be a trying journey but we will do what we can to help you get there.

Mico, (micorazoncita) Sorry you are out this month but it's a good time to start planning your next cycle. You said you have just started ttc so it might be good to start charting your bbt every morning. Also get some opk' s so you know exactly when to concentrate on bd'ing. It is good to get insight into your cycle as early as possible so you can spot if you have any problems, that way you can fix it quick. Do you know how long your luteal phase is? Have you recorded your bbt to check that ovulation occurs?
I wish I had done it at the start of my journey and saved myself valuable time.

Any questions, rants, and general chat we are all here.

Afm, Finally fighting fit at the end of a horrible course of antibiotics and I'm so grateful I could run through a field of poppies. They did have a great affect on my cm, it was like being twenty again. I had streaks of blood through it on my two most fertile days, anyone else ever had that? Was def a first for me, was a bit scared until I looked it up and found some women experience ovulation bleeding.
I also had a bleeding nose on 2dpo so must be something to do with the meds.

Anyone else having odd symptoms? Let us know what's going on with your two week wait.
Good luck to everyone this cycle xx

Hi Kerzie,

I read in several places that antibiotics do wonders for CM and used to be something fertility specialists put you on right away when you were having trouble TTC. I'm really excited for you, maybe that was the boost you needed! I have begged my doctor to put me and DH on one course of antibiotics, having read it works for some people, and also because of all the wackiness in his sperm (I have read that sperm problems can be bacterial, but that it can be almost impossible to detect- he has tested for it, and we can't find it, but still...). SO, I am sorry you were sick, but let's hope this is the golden lining! I think the antibiotics connection is mentioned in the book, "Taking Charge of Your Fertility." Oh, yes, and I think a lot of people get ovulation bleeding.

AFM, well, I purposefully didn't buy any tests this months because I am tired of the negatives and I figure I will know if I miss AF and I should just wait. THAT SAID guess who peed on an OPK stick today?! Hahaha. I read that they can detect HCG. I think it is supposed to be super, extra positive though to show any sign that you might have a BFP, and it wasn't. It had a line like I get when I am going to get an OPK+ in another day or two. I might try it tomorrow to see if it gets any darker... Anyway, I am only 9 DPO.

to you all!

P.S. Kerzie, let me know if you find out anything interesting or helpful from FF!

Happy Sunday and thanks for the warm welcome Ladies:)

39 - I'm on cycle day 3. Tomorrow I'll have FSH levels checked. My GN says to give it 6 months before recommending any additional assistance. I really like my GN. She empathizes with the physical and emotional turmoil of ttc, as she herself had 3 children at an advanced maternal age.

Kerzie - My LP is 14 days. Last month we used BBT, ovulation monitor, OPK's, prenatal vitamins, fertility tea and preseed (once). I ovulated, however, I don't think we bd'd enough. My DH thinks its him so we even purchased male vitamins and a home sperm check kit that we haven't used yet. Trying to reinforce that it's not anyone fault, it's about finding out what other options we may need to explore sooner than later.

This month we plan to bd more during the fertile period
