40+ TTC in 2015

Hello,
I had to scroll through so many pages to find recent ladies who are TTC and decided to open a new thread for 2015. This should make it easier to find friends and buddies who are going through the same emotional roller coaster of TTC in their 40's.
Is it worth opening a new thread monthly to keep it current?
Would also like to wish everyone the best of luck, the more people that get a BFP gives the rest of us hope so please don't forget to post.
Baby dust to all ????

Hoping things went well Mozart

Franny- I had mine checked in Sept and it was good. Good point though because a lot of women (or people in general) are low and dont even know it.

I had my B12 checked too and it was too high So, guess thats another issue to dive into since B vit are supposed to leave your system through urination when too high.

Pix - only big plans we have this weekend are .....since I'll be gone on my O day.
How about you?

Just briefly checking in. IUIs went well, now dealing with terrible cramping - always the HCG shot aftermath.
Franny, I supplement with 4,000 IU vit D per day. I have heard of the link between trouble conceiving and low vit D.
Greetings to all - hoping to hear of some BFPs soon.

Hey there ladies! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. No big plans for me this weekend, but it's nice to see the sun after so much wind and rain. Michigan can be an interesting place to live that's for sure! Rain, wind, snow, sun, 30 degrees and then 60 the next day, lol!

Franny - Yes, I also take Vit, D, after my doctor checked it a few years ago and it was low. She said almost anyone who lives north of Georgia needs it. But very few people realize it's important for TTC.

Talula - Happy ! This is the fun part! So enjoy yourselves.

Mozart - Glad the IUI's went well. Sorry about the cramping. Sounds like a nice relaxing weekend is just what you need. I'll keep my you can relax.

BabyAngelG - How are you doing? When will you be testing? When is AF due? We all are sending you this month. I know how hard it is to try to do this naturally, and believe that it can still happen. But we are all here to support one another.

to all, and I look forward to seeing some 's very soon!!

So on Friday I tested with Opk and got + @ cd 11, then again mid day 12 which is a bit early for me. I went back to temping again this cycle since my last was a bit outta sorts and my Temps are not looking very promising. I had small dip on cd 11 (98°) and small rise cd 12 (98.2), cd 13 (98.3). Normally I would see a distinct change and certainly not this early.
Well the good news would be that if I did O, I was home and not traveling.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Talula - Yay! Well hopefully you caught that eggie before your trip! At least you had fun trying right??

BabyDust - You have come to the right place for support. We all understand the devastation of loss, and wanting. We are here to support one another! I wish you all the best for this cycle. What day are you on and what are you trying this cycle? Any plans by your RE? I will keep my for a positive outcome!

How is EVERYONE else? I hope you had a great weekend.

AFM- CD 5 and AF is pretty much gone. Temps are low and I have started the B6 and B Complex this month. Hoping to lengthen that LP! I am feeling rather down about ttc at my age, but am trying to keep my hopes up anyways. The power of HOPE is amazing!

Mozart - fingers crossed that your IUI was successful! Hope the cramping has died down. How are your temps looking? When are you able to test?

Talula - hope you caught that egg!

pixandpoetry - great attitude, keep those hopes up! Hope the B6 helps.

BabyAngelG - to you!

BabyDust - welcome!

Me - I am FRUSTRATED! I planned a trip this week, which is really hard to do with work—not to mention expensive, specifically around what should be my fertile period. I thought it might be more relaxed in a fun setting. We are not leaving 'til Wednesday, day 10 of my cycle which I thought was perfect. Yesterday, CD 7, I got EWCM! And today my temp dropped from 97.6 to 96.9. Oh no! My DH and I did fool around last night but ummm.. let's just say I tried to take the stress off and, thinking that it was not my fertile period, nothing we did could lead to conception... Today my clear blue fertility monitor said high, and not peak though. PRAYING I hold out 'til at least CD 11 to ovulate. I so rarely get EWCM too, so it's all a bit weird.

I wish I could find a place I like, to do monitoring. Obviously, I need it!

to all!

Hi everyone,
Last year I found out I had low levels of vitamin d, I have been trying to correct it but didn't know it can effect fertility. Thanks for the info franny. I live in Scotland so sunshine is a rarity for 10 months of the year, at the moment it's wet, windy, cold, gets dark before 5pm and I will be lucky to see the sky before spring due to cloud cover. Will definitely up vit d suppliments.
I also have autoimmune problems baby dust, I have managed to survive with cutting out all medications except codeine. I really hope this won't interfere with ttc as I'm not sure I could cope without it.
Mozart, u have the best excuse in the world for putting your feet up and taking it easy. Sending the blizzard of baby dust your way (like that one too)
Pix, vitex has worked for me so far but now confused when is best to take it for luteal phase defect? From CD5 till end of cycle? From CD1 to ovulation? Or ovulation until end of cycle? Nearly forgot some people take it without stopping?
Any views anyone?
Franny, looks like you will be 'busy' tonight just in case, I hope you last until your holiday or that you are ovulatng twice? It seems a bit early for ovulation so who knows, keep checking anyway. Whatever happens have a good time away, I'm sure the break will do both of you the world of good.
Good luck and baby dust to everyone xx

Hi Kerzie,

You live in Scotland! My favorite place in the world. I worked there for a year after high school and have visited since. Have been trying to get DH over there, as he has never been. I would live there in a heartbeat. Where I am from, Vancouver Island Canada, has very similar weather. (But I live in New York now.) Yes, about the vitamin D: I have found it takes LOT of supplementing to keep it up. Take D3, and I take 5000iu a day but it has barely budged.

DH and I have a somewhat unusual arrangement where we "live together apart." (Although, it is apparently it's more and more common these days.) So, unfortunately we will not be able to BD tonight. I really hope I don't O today. That upcoming trip away was supposed to be a big chunk of time for us together, at the right time. The scheduling is a huge challenge.

I have moderately elevated rheumatoid factor and just tested positive for low levels of TPO antibodies (Hashimoto's—thyroid). Uggh. I am pretty concerned about inflammation if we ever do get pregnant. That, plus DH's very iffy sperm makes me wonder if we will ever be successful.

Do those of you with auto-immune worry about inflammation? Do you have a plan? Thank you.
