Taking Clomid CD1-CD5 on a 24-26 day cycle need to hear success stories

Hallo ladies I have regular periods and they come on time every month. I usually feel ovulation between day 10-12 depending on cycle. We have been trying for almost 18months for baby no2 with no success. My OB-gyn prescribed clomid 50mg from cd1-cd5. Everything I read says to start in cd 2-6. Does it really make a difference when you start? And what are the chances of twins. I need to hear some success stories for people with short cycles.
