I definitely wouldn't move on to ivf without giving an iui a try, especially if you don't have any major issues like male infertility or ovulation problems. I have done one iui. I P
personally think the timing was completely off. By time I went in for my ultrasound the follicles were already a whopping 22cm.... they told me to trigger that night. However, I went home and took an opt which was already positive. My body was gearing up to ovulate on its own before I ever took the trigger. I'm pretty sure I ovulated the next day and iui wasn't until the day after that. I will push next time for an extra ultrasound or too to make sure our timing is better.

Hey Mill, Thanks so much for your reply. I will definitely look into IUI before IVF, I'm so terrified of the idea of injecting myself every day for IVF but if needs be...
When will you go for your next IUI? Is it super expensive where you are?
I'm sorry to hear they got the timing wrong on your last IUI, I'm worried that would happen me too, I tend to ovulate quickly after a positive OPK.

We are going to try again at the beginning of the year! It is about $650 per round with ultrasound and trigger included. Not super bad, but we are paying cash, so it's never fun to spend a bunch of money on something that comes so easy to others... But it is what it is! Just talk with your dr. About your fears. If I would have triggered before my body was already gearing up to ovulate, I think our timing would have been fine. I just know now that cloud speeds things along quite abit. I will be going in for an ultrasound on cd 10 instead of cd 12 this next time. Like I said by the time cd 12 came, my body was already gearing up to ovulate and those follies were ready to pop!
