Weird symptoms. Just started the pill after dh and I decided to take a break. Confused.

I'm just starting my 3rd month on the pill. A couple weeks ago, I randomly started bleeding, about a week before my expected period. I didn't bleed while I was supposed to have my period, then started spotting. That's stopped, but I'm still nauseous and I feel like something in my uterus area is pinching a lot. I'm exhausted, but have a hard time sleeping. Is this just the birth control? The weird thing is that I had no problems when I first started it. Not until the end of the second month. I've been having a lot of pregnancy dreams, but maybe just because that's on my mind. I'm mostly confused that the nausea and stuff didn't stop when the spotting did. Oh, and my period and spotting were all dark, not bright red. Any advice would be helpful. I'd been on the pill before, and never had anything like this. Never even breakthrough bleeding. And I'm on the exact same pill as before now.
