How many times per day are you testing? I've used OPKs once - for 2 cycles (before conceiving) - and the first cycle I only tested once a day and missed my surge, the second time I was texting am, midday and pm and caught it... Sometimes, you can just have a cycle where you don't ovulate too...

Are your cycles regular?
OPKs detect your LH surge which generally is detected anywhere from 12-48 hours before you ovulate (be sure to follow the instructions closely - some have you testing in the morning but depending on the test some have you testing in the afternoon which is supposedly better because the surge apparently happens in the morning....)
the catch is - you can have an LH surge without ovulating! The only true way to confirm if/when you ovulate is to chart your temperature.
I recommend you start charting (if you aren't already). And that will help you figure out if you are ovulating every cycle and if you ovulate at the same time every month or not.

IM not sure if my cycles are regular as this month was my first period since last June as have been on zoledex injections. Ive been testing twice a day. I get a dark second line but not as dark as the control line. Ive had all the other symptoms of ovulation just no back up on the tests
