Hi all. I am really hoping this is our month. If my DH and I conceive this month, our EDD will be October 8th. This cycle we are using: Pre-seed, OPK, and Clear Blue Fertility Monitor. Our fingers are crossed!

pbc - oh i hope your thyroid is ok!!! my thyroid basically screwed us out of a whole year of TTC. at least it's fixable and such, but no one wants to wait. at the same time though if it is off, at least it can finally get fixed.

pbc and koti - thanks guys, had the test today! see below

and welcome and GL to everyone, i can't remember all the names and what i read to get back to everyone individually, but i wish you all babydust!!

AFM, calling it CD11 today, doc made a special exception for me today to do the sono HSG. took 400mg ibuprofen 1hr prior (they wanted me to take 600, but i couldn't bring myself to do it! i'm a 200mg for a headache kind of gal ;) if i even take meds). anyhoo the transvaginal U/S part at the beginning was totally fine, very minimal discomfort, and things looked awesome. i can read U/S, so i was so happy when my right ovary came in view, so many pretty follicles, one was already 15mm. The balloon catheter inserting part was a little uncomfortable, and the start of the saline was ok, manageable, i was doing deep breathing. when they did the flushes to check my tubes wow that feels crazy.... basically it really hurts and feels intensely weird for like 2 seconds. anyhoo my tubes are open, yay!!!

Based on my medical history and things she saw: cervix tilts to the left and uterus to the right... which is NBD. She is suspicious of me having a slight to mild case of PCOS and endometriosis. can't prove the PCOS because i have no obvious signs, i'm slender, no funny hair growth, etc. The uterus tilt makes her a little worried about a stage I or II endometriosis though. you need laparoscopy to diagnose it though.

plan: she gave me 'natural' progesterone to supplement daily at night vaginally for 13 days. i'm calling them my vagina pills :) anyhoo i gotta test opk's, and the 4th day after my + i start the capsules. after i finish if AF doesn't show up that next morning i gotta do a HPT. if positive i need to blood test asap to see if i still need progesterone. If we don't get lucky this cycle we'll do a super low dose of clomid, like only 25mg daily. she really thinks i only need a tiny bit of ovulation help. with the clomid on board we'll see how my progesterone does on it's own, otherwise we'll add on the supplement again.

so i have mixed emotions... i think this is mostly good news and we have a plan. i really liked this doc. showed her my bbt charting and she totally feels i ovulated. she thinks when my thyroid was out of whack i probably wasn't. so i definitely have a LP defect.

other good news is my TSH is climbing back up! was dropping off and i was worried my graves' would relapse.

sorry so long, but if any of this helps someone else, then that's great! plus me letting it out really helps me. thanks for reading!!

forgot to add: during that first clomid cycle, i gotta have an U/S check on about CD12 to see how the ovaries look. if this plan doesn't work for 4-6 cycles, then she'd like to do a laparoscopy to look for endometriosis and of course zap it if seen. i didn't know that endometriosis causes inflammatory cytokines in your peritoneal fluid and basically can inhibit fertilization. cross fingers we get it to work!!!

Firsttimemommy - good news all around and it's nice to finally feel like you have a plan! I was glad when I finally had my hsg and met with the RE b/c they assured me I could pregnant but it's like I wanted something bigger to be wrong. I ovulate normally and cycles are normal so that is good, but my thyroid is funky and his swimmers are suffering from slight motility issues. The plan is to move to IUI but not sure when that will actually happen. Waiting for my tsh levels to be ok and to find the extra money. Insurance won't cover the procedure or medications I will need for it. I'll get there, I hope! Hopefully you won't need clomid or any other procedures!

I also wonder about my LP but stupidly forgot to discuss with the RE. Right now it seems to be between 10-11 days but I can't be 100% sure since I haven't been using OPKs or really charting for several months.

firsttime: I'm glad your test wasn't too bad and that you have a plan now, this is great!
I hope the progesterone is all you need. I get to test mine today, but won't see results until I'm back from Mexico.
I'm like you with the pills, I will avoid them at all costs, but I am also very sensitive down there, I hope I won't have to do that test....
My sister has both PCOS and endometriosis (she's young doesn't want kids yet). Whats a laparoscopy?
I have my for you that you will get a this cycle!!!!

A laparoscopy is when they go in surgically (it's minimally invasive) with scopes that have cameras on them and take a look in your belly to see what may or may not be going on. You just end up with a couple tiny incisions on your belly, nothing major. It just gives the docs a definitive answer to what may be happening- a lot of these procedures are gyn related. If they feel further interventions may be needed they'd consent you prior or they'd wait and discuss the findings with you afterward.

Hey ladies,

I just had my positive OPK today so I am hoping to ovulate tomorrow! That would put my EDD on October 3rd, 2014. I have had some strange cycles since TTC and I am really hoping this is my month. I have been having sex daily since Dec 31st, but I missed January 6th. I have also been using preseed this month. Fingers crossed for everyone!

Thank you kotikd,

I am trying to stay positive this month. Luckily my hubby is as eager as I am and we have the same work schedule so it's easy to get to business when we need to. We got married in September but that month I wasn't using OPKs and missed my surge. Came earlier than I expected. Then October I didn't really miss O but didn't have any luck. In November I started using OPKs and got a positive on CD 12. Period came just 15 days later. December was a funky month for me though. I never got a positive OPK and on CD 20 I started spotting for 5 days. My OB said I might not have ovulated or ovulated on CD 6.. Definitely wasn't testing that early. Just counted it as my period and now onto January! Praying to get a this month!
