Welcome MsFreebs! & Hello to all you lovely ladies returning from previous forums. I am 5 DPO today & experiencing lots of new symptoms, this mine & my DH's 7th month TTC so I'm quite aware of my body by now. The main symptom I've felt since 1DPO is a mild ache to my right side, but it's continuous & becomes very uncomfortable when trying to sleep! I wouldn't say it was painful, just more irritating! I've never had a continuous ache like this, it feels nothing like PMS/AF & is generalised to my lower abdomen, not specifically to my ovary, can any of you relate? Also, when I finally get to sleep it's really disturbed & I've been waking up several times throughout the night having really vivid nightmares! Today is the 5th day my temps have been above 98.4 & I've been feeling exhausted, even though I have a week off from work! I'm due to test in 6 days time & I'm praying this is our month! Anyone else waiting to test? <3

EmmaLucy, I'm about 8dpo and starting on 6dpo I had spotting, mild cramping similar to what you described, and a massive headache for two days. I can't seem to sleep for very long at a time either. I've also been nauseous. It comes in waves. I'm hoping this is it!! I've tested already but got a BFP.

Sending butt loads of baby dust your way!!!!!

Hi ladies,

I've been kind of following this forum but now I'm officially joining in. I'm on CD13 and my EDD is Oct 18. Right now I'm home sick with the flu but I'm still trying to BD.

Do I have any cycle buddies?

to everyone.

KhamicDharma: It's good to know I'm not the only one feeling these symptoms! No spotting here, but I have got an awful headache, I've never had spotting so that would be really unusual for me. I'm gonna hold out & test at 11DPO, last month I managed to hold out till 12DPO! Sending lots of baby dust & prayers your way! <3

Scooby, it does seem odd he would jump straight to IUI. Have you had any testing done at all with a different doctor? I would expect an RE to do some blood work to see what's going on at least, and possibly perform a hysterosalpinogram (HSG) to see what your fallopian tubes are doing, and also possibly a saline ultrasound to check for polyps or fibroids.

If tubes are blocked or clogged, it's possible the fertilized eggs aren't making it to the uterus, try to implant in the fallopian tube, start creating HCG, and fail- causing an early loss like you had last month. That was my issue and the cause of my losses.

Random growths in the uterus could be lowing chances of good places for eggs to implant, or don't let the egg implant well enough, resulting in a similar situation above.

I would definitely do some testing before jumping into IUI. If either of those are your problem, IUI won't fix it. IUI helps solve two things: 1) sperm issues, which isn't a problem for you guys; or 2) lower reproductive system issues- something with your mucus, cervix, vagina, etc. It's possible that IUI can help, but you won't know (and don't want to waste the money!) before you do some tests to try to see a problem. If everything still looks good and your infertility remains unexplained, IUI is a common next step for about three cycles.

Also, did he recommend you start taking progesterone? I know some doctors will have you take it without testing first because normal levels are so different from woman to woman, and there aren't any risks or bad side effects. It doesn't hurt to take it, and you may need it, so why not? So I wouldn't be wary if he prescribed that without testing first.

TL;DR- get a second opinion :)
