Could a hcg level of 5.9 cause a faint BFP?

I had a miscarriage in August. I had retained tissue and was taking Black Cohosh, drinking Raspberry Leaf tea, and going regularly for blood tests to make sure my cycle returned to normal.

Last blood test I had, was in November and my HCG level was 5.9. I'm assuming that all the tissue was removed with my last period, which was November 28 (I had a period earlier that month, too).

Fast forward to December, when we home inseminated with a Softcup the day before ovulation (which was the 7th) and I kept it in 12 hours.

I'm now 11 DPO and I'm getting faint pink lines on every test I take, not to mention I'm having symptoms that confuse the hell out of me.

Could I still have retained tissue? Could that be causing false positives?
