Vaginal ultrasound 3 weeks

Hi everyone, I had an ultrasound yesterday to see if there is anything stopping us from conceiving. The lady told me to do a pregnancy test as she could see either a blob of blood or a gestational sac.. she said my lining was thick and the sac was where it should be should it be a baby starting. It got my hopes up and this morning I got a BFN. Has anyone ever heard of this before?
