Baby in 2016?!?! - TTC
Started the new year with a trip to my family doctor to start the testing to find out what is going on. It's been 15 months since going off HBC and 13 months of really TTC (charting, OPKs, preseed, timing, vitamins).... I only have the one ovary left and feel like my time is running out (which doctors have previously told me isn't quite how it all works). Luckily, my doctor is familiar with FAM and is confident that by looking at my charts that I am ovulating... but of course she can't be certain of the "quality" of my eggs... so here we go. Blood tests for CD21 (thankfully I'm at CD16 now) because if I had to wait for another cycle I think I would go crazy. I stopped temping and charting and tracking everything for 3 months and just started back up again part way through last cycle to get this show on the road!!!! Hubby has to go for a SA (which I think he feels like its an "attack on his manhood"). He doesn't quite understand as he has 2 kids from a previous marriage so he thinks "all his boys work". Haha... of course he is on board for all of this and is going to attend as soon as we know we are out of this months fertile phase (pretty sure I OV 2 days ago - just waiting for 3rd high temp tomorrow to confirm) as we have to abstain for 2-7 days and obviously don't want to waste those! We are also working on finding him a family doctor. His retired about 7 years ago - before we were even together - and he hasn't bothered finding a new one. My GP isn't taking on any new clients at this time. Worst case scenario he will drop into a walk in clinic and get the requisition. 5 days... I just need to make it 5 days until the blood test. She testing Estradiol, FSH, Ferritin, Progesterone & TSH. Once those results come in she is going to try and fast track me to a fertility specialist in my area to get things going for us. Fingers crossed they find some answers as to why this has been taking so long. I just want to know what we're dealing with... ugh :(
