bharrios- Yes, the health care is very slow in Canada! I think that's the price you pay for it being free. And apparently GP's here are not supposed to prescribe clomid either without seeing a specialist. I guess Clomid was being prescribed to too many people who didn't really need it.

Genni- welcome to the forum:)

Paradise- Yeah!!!! Lots of sticky bean dust to you!!

Ellekj- Welcome to the days of normal cycles! I used to be anywhere from 40 to 55 days so it feels great to finally be around 30. I do believe that your GP can prescribe you clomid if it's suggested by your fertility doc.

AFM- just waiting to ovulate. I think it might happen a little earlier this time due to my increased meds. My birthday is on the 14th so that would be pretty neat if it happened then!

I live in England, we get our drs appointments, scans, operations, birth, etc free on the NHS. We do have to pay for our medication but is subsidsied by the NHS so we pay about £7.50 per item. People on low incomes, the unemployed, under 16, pregnant women, retired and women 12 months post birth get a certificate entitling them to free NHS prescriptions.
We also get free IVF but there are a lot of people who don't qualify, the waiting lists are long and you have to pay for your medication etc.

So yeah, I get my treatment free it just takes a little longer

I had my blood taken, yeah I had some left hehe and I've generally spent all day rushing about doing jobs. I wasn't at work and this is the first bit of time to myself I've had lol!

Hbarios: My doctor told us that nowadays there is no male infertility because they can "boost" the sperm. I know this also from my cousin that as far as I knw his sperm is totally absent, but with the help of the doctors they succeed to have twins! I hope your friend to find the way to solve the problem!

A little about my current cycle, I am on DPO 6 and I have lots of cramping.... not surprised because I usually have cramps during my luteal phase, but everytime I just hope to be an implantation cramping!

Thank you!

Hello Ladies

hbarrios~TEST! TEST!

paradisein2011~ for a positive ov test! Now you have a great reason to spend the weekend in bed with your dh! lol

Genni25~That is CRAZY how much it costs for tests where you live! All appointments in Canada are free, so is the HSG test. I hope the clomid will work for you and you get your bfp soon!

kethryes~When my dh and I first realized we were going to have trouble ttc I visited my family doctor and told her of my concerns. First step was an ultrasound (internal) to check my ovaries for cysts. We did discover a couple small ones but they didn't seem to be causing the problem and we have just been keeping an eye on them since. Then we were referred to a fertility specialist. I had another internal ultrasound and my dh had to provide a sperm sample and then we talked about the steps we could take. Both of our results up until this point were great. We have both had an extensive amount of blood work completed as well-testing for every disease or illness under the sun! I then had an hsg test (ouch!) and my tubes were clear and then started on Clomid, 50 mg cd3-7. I took it for a few months and my cd21 blood work to check for ovulation was good each of the months but we were still unsuccessful. Ive been on a "break" for the summer and we are planning to try IUI this fall/winter. I just have to work up the guts to do it! So we definitely had a lot of testing done prior to even starting on Clomid. I am very "anti-medication" so I'm really glad our specialist didn't push the meds on me at all. We made sure to check everything out first which is the best way to do it I think.

felurian~By the next morning af was in full force. I find it odd that it started so early too! I don't know what is going on. Especially since I was 4 days late last cycle.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Just the prices w/o insurance.
Most people say there is different types of HSG's one with cameras and ect which may be expensive.
I just hope we don't have to go that far.
Just moved so we had money saved but now it's gone :-(

hbarrios- I agree with babylove. Test! Your mucous sounds promising, especially with the high temp you had the other day.

babylove that is so odd. What a funky cycle! Good luck next month

Genni that does sound like a lot for an HSG. I paid full out of pocket for mine, and total after the physician fee and everything it was about $800. Maybe there is a different hospital imaging center that's cheaper? They all have their own prices. Shop around a little if you can.

I really want to read some books, fiction or non-fiction, involving infertility. Anyone have suggestions? Preferably with infertility as the main subject or theme. I just don't know where to find ones like that

Hbarios: you are already so helpful, dont be sorry for anything.... I just wrote what my doctor said that could be useful to tell to your friends.
I will be out for the weekend, and I wont have access to the internet. I am coming back on Monday and I hope to read that you had a positive test! I am waiting to celebrate your great news.....

Babylove, thank you for the info. Your doctor seems to be very right. It is good to know that your doctor is not manipulated by the pharmaceuticals. I wish you soon!

For me: DPO 7, slight dip of temp and a lot of pinches down there.

Have a nice weekend all of you!

kethryes - I think I am around 5dpo (if I ov'd) and I am sitting here like 'is that cramp?' lol no doubt over the next couple of days I'll be watching for IB too. Ah TTC! Do you feel hopeful this cycle?

hbarrios - TEST TEST TEST! lol A lot of women who have BFP say they get a lot of CM and keep thinking it's AF. Good luck!

felurian - I want to read a book about infertility too but I haven't came accross one yet :< boo!

Hbarrios-test! I'm a poas addict,so I got some Internet cheapies to use before I use my frer.

Sticky dust to all you bfps!

AFM- I've been lurking. Had a very rough month with extreme bronchitis. At one point I was on 7 different drugs. I was just too depressed to post anything. Also did my third and last month of clomid. I kind of gave up. I'm supposed see af any day now. Couldn't control myself and had to poas the last 2 days. Thought I had line eyes. Did a frer just 5 minutes ago.....got a bfp! Whether or not you realize it, you guys have really helped me throughout ttc even ove this past month when I took a break from posting and lurked. Now I hope it sticks! Not sure if I can keep this up if I have another chemical!

Thanks again guys.
