Big temp drop

Lovely AF is coming! What cycle day does everyone start charting on? Should I just continue to temp throughout my period or should I start after it ends?

I charted all through. I think it helps to give you a better idea of your cycle. :)

That's what I was thinking, thank you Cari! ;)

I started today, I kept forgetting to temp before getting out of bed the last few days. I'm sorry AF got you too. Hugs!

Sorry she's coming for you.
I started charting on CD 1, then got lazy and started on day 3 or 4, although I do agree with Khaera.

Amdouthitt- it is really hard to remember to take before getting up especially if ya gotta pee really bad or something lol. Is this your first time charting? AF hasn't arrived yet but she pretty much announced her visit will be soon with the big temp drop :(

Eat- I will try to start CD 1 but if I miss a few days it won't matter much, probably just later in cycle is what matters the most, right?

Ok, I broke out my TCOYF book. On page 74 it says: "If you prefer, you may restrict temperature taking to about one-third of the cycle, as discussed in Chapter 10 on Shortcuts. However, I would strongly idscourage you from using shortcuts until you have charted several cycles."

In ch. 10 she says she still discourages taking shortcutes, but "it's not necessary to chart during your period, sicne these temperatures tend to be somewhat high or erratic anyway." She also says if you slack off early on it will be tempting to do it later in the cycle. I think charting most of the cycle is good b/c if you have an imbalance in hormones it becomes clear, then if you're on B6 or vitex you can see how it's working over the next 3 months. HTH!

Eat- that's so interesting! I probably should chart from CD 1 at least until I get a few months of charts for comparison. That book sounds like it knows me well..." If you slack off early on it, it will be tempting to do it later in the cycle" I totally would too :) Thank you for looking in the book for this information, I really appreciate it.

You're welcome. That was the first reading material on fertility I ever had. My BFF mailed it to me. I totally slacked off for the first 2 cycles I charted. It was so hard to remember to do it.
