Here We Go Again
This month was my first month back on Clomid after my cp in January. The plan was to do one cycle on Clomid, and then try IUI in April. I am scheduled for my IUI consultation on March 30th.
Because I'm crazy and love to pee on things (I'm like a dog in that way) I decided to buy some super cheap super sensitive 10miu pg tests and they came when I was 8dpo. Of course I had to pee on one right away. Negative. Bastards. However, if you know me at all (or even if you don't and can imagine me), you'll know I wasn't going to stop there. The next morning I had a work trip to go on so I dipped another in fmu. I saw (it's in my images if you want to see) the TINIEST, FAINTEST line. At least I thought I did. Did I? I sent the picture to my mom and obsessed in my head all day. When I came home I took another. A little more obvious. The next am? Totally visible, and I took a FRER as well with a faint line. I called my doctor for a beta (because of my history of infertility I am supposed to call as soon as I get a positive). It came back at 26 on 10dpo. My lovely nurse (the same jerk from my CP) told me it was "really, really low." (seriously, is she on a script?) but she hadn't been listening when I told her I ovulated on cd17 not cd14, putting me at 10dpo not 13. Then she said "Well, I still don't want you to come in Monday. Come in Wednesday, that way you would have at least missed your period." Fine.
Now, I've made it clear that I am insane, so I peed on nearly 20 pg tests between Friday and today. FRER, the 10miu, Dollar Store, CVS, and a digital. All were positive, and getting darker. I started calculating in my head. What would my beta have to be on Wednesday? At least 150 was my guess, so in my head I started praying for in the 200s. I went in today and took the test and anxiously awaited the call for the next 2.5 hours. Finally they called. It wasn't jerk nurse, but my favorite nurse. "Dana, it looks like your hcg is doubling nicely. Today you are 474." 474!!!! Totally surpassed my hopes. I couldn't help the tears in my eyes. I have my first ultrasound scheduled for 4/14. I am hoping this baby sticks!!!
