About this symptom

Decreased Acne

Many women notice an increase in acne during pregnancy, as increased sebum (oil) production can lead to breakouts, as can hormonal changes. Interestingly, many women report a decrease in acne, and clear radiant skin. Hormonal changes are the likely cause, as is an increase in blood volume, both of which can help deliver more oxygen and nutrients to all the organs, including the skin. Many women who may have hormone related acne when not pregnant find it clears up during pregnancy as hormone levels change.

Includes: If you are not getting any acne when you normally would, or existing acne is diminishing
