We got our BFP!

We've been trying off and on for about 9 months and finally got our BFP this month! :)

These are the things that we did differently this month...
I stopped drinking caffeine and alcohol completely a couple of weeks before this cycle started. I haven't touched them since. I also took Pregnacare Conception vitamins, Agnus Castus and Evening Primrose Oil from day 1 of my cycle until ovulation. My cm isn't great and so we've been using Preseed for a few months now.

Can't believe it's finally happening - yiippppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Baby dust to everyone! x

Success story

Fibroids and Low Motility BFP

Test after test all seemed okay even though I have uterine fibroids, doctors assured me that I would have no problem to conceive 1,2,3,4,5, months passed and no pregnancy. Right after the second month of TTC I asked my husband to take a semen test which he delayed until the 6 months of TTC. Tests results were Low Motility, the more I researched the more I found out it would be almost impossible to get pregnant. We tried Ginseng, vitamins, no results, until I gave Vitamin C in high doses minimum 2000 mg. a Day for 1 1/2 months, then the big miracle came BPF! confirmed today by an Ultrasound.. right there my baby inside a bright beautiful sac!

Success story

Holy crap... we finally did it!

My husband and I are both 33 years old and have been ttc #1 for 15 months. After being told I have too thin of a lining to get pregnant and after trying all possible options we descided to just try MACA Root to see if helped manage my hormones and thicken the lining... well it work.

Before maca my lining only ever went to 4mm and with maca it got to 6.4mm which worked for us because i just found out this mornig that WE ARE PREGGERS!! I am really worried because i am having some bleeding. but I went for bloodwork and they say my HCG and progesterone are fanastic. They put me on prometrium and hopefully all the bleeding will stop and everything will be okay.

what I did different this month.

Maca root (my cousin tried to get pregnant for over a year with no luck and the 2nd month she tried maca she got pregnant)

Preseed everytime we BD during peak time (my friend was trying to get pregnant for over a year and she got pregnant the first month she used preseed)

As for my symptoms...not many

only thing i noticed was on 7dpo i had cramping around my uterus area only lasting for maybe 15 seconds. It felt like the cramps i got when i had my HSG test done. As soon as i felt it I told my husband "this is it I think we are pregnant" and i haven't felt anything since.

I have been having some spotting for the last few days so i thought it was my period coming early. I took a test last night at 10DPO to be sure so I could have some wine...and wouldn't you know it there was faint line. no wine for me for a while. I did 2 more this morning and looks like we did it... PREGGERS.

so today is 11DPO and the only symptom i am having is a sore back. I do not feel pregnant at all.

I am so happy I didnt' think I was going to be able to get pregnant. I still don't believe it is happening.

So for all of you reading this and not having symptoms... there is a chance you could be pregnant. I looked very closely for any sign and found nothing. I mean i was check my cervix position and fluid... and squeezing my boobs... nothing. but here i am today 11 dpo and pregnant.

good luck to you all and pray for my sticky bean

Success story

Hoping for a sticky bean...

Ttc #3 for 9mos and got my BFP yesterday at 12 DPO. I was expecting to be out this month to be quite honest, but that isn't the case. What I did differently, I just relaxed and not think about it too much. Trust me not thinking about it was the hardest thing to do. I enjoyed BD with DH and actually had some fun. I bought some opks and preseed to use for next cycle but hoping that with this pregnancy I won't need them after, ever again. I've never been into bbt so I never temp. I go by calender because my cycle is at a steady 25 days. This time I didn't feel as many symptoms as I would with PMS. I did 3 hpts 10 dpo at 3 different times just to test those internet dipsticks 20ml sensitivity. Well they were so so so super faint that I dismissed them as evaps. At 11 DPO my DH took me to watch Captain America and for the life of me I can't stop myself from crying. My DH laugh at me and I cried harder lol. At 12 DPO I took another 1 of those hpts and the result was clear as day and it was a BFP. All I need is for this one to stick. DH doesn't know yet lol payback for laughing at me for crying... I'll just send him out for some midnight snacks later. Goodluck to all TTCers and God bless...

Success story

The Power of Prayer!

My hubby (29) and I (24) decided to start trying at the beginning of April. Our first month was a bust..I had gotten a random uti and pegged our first failed month on that. May begins and I bring out opks and start temping.. I must have changed my temps a hundred times and i mixed up my opks (didnt date them) so I was confused on what day I actually got the positive. Anyways, it felt like month #2 was going to be a bust as well. This time I pegged it on the fact that I had a termination when I was 18 and God would never forgive me and never bless me again. Boy was I wrong!!!
I have prayed for forgiveness for years and I asked God in prayer for a miracle to hsow me that I was forgiven and that my hubby and I can have a baby together...I literally felt I was damaged or not worthy. Well the month went by and I felt no symptoms out of the norm and I was getting down on another failed month and I just handed it over to God. I was emotionally exhausted. I realized that God is the one who gives life not me and he opens wombs and makes them fruitful not me. And we went away for memorial weekend and my period never came. Fast foward one week as I ran pad in pocket to the bathroom for the whole week only to never get my period..I though it was stress and the fact that I wanted something so much I wished my period away.
This past Friday I ran home and decided to test against my will. I peed and to my surprise, the test line came up before the control line!! I thought the test was faulty and inverted because the control line had yet to come up lol! Well within 3 minutes the control line appeared and my test line was blaring red almost! I fell to my knees in amazement and wonder and the power of God!
I was speechless!! I regained my composure and ran down stairs and showed the hubby!!! After i had blamed him and his faulty soldiers and myself and complained that we needed to get tested and I worked up so many crazy scenarios only to get smacked in the face with the fact that God is in control and his timing is perfect.

Now for my "symptoms"

O day - I think i had my + opk today but I mized them up so I wasnt sure, plus my temp drop was yesterday and today was my temp rise but I blamed the temp rise on a late party night. I did feel something like O pains.

1dpo - 6 dpo: Nada!!! The usual CM..nothing different..oh and acne. ugh.

7 dpo - present: my nips were sore..THIS NEVER HAPPENS TO ME. I get sore boobs like 3 days before AF. I thought this was weird. The soreness never subsided.

10 dpo : I was extremely tired. I would fall asleep like right after dinner.

14 dpo: temps still high and triphasic and crazy peeing!!

So there are my symptoms lol

I tested when I was 8 days late and it was the boldest line ever. I had no "real symptoms" that alot of women imagine up. ALL of my "symptoms" couldvery well be pms symptoms.

We're in shock and in awe and excited!! This is our first and we give all glory and praise to God. Me and my dumb opks and temping and thinking I could "do this on my own" was silly. Don't be afraid to ask God for help!!! Prayer is powerful!!

"Isaiah 40:31 - But they that hope in the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall have wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. "

Success story

38 and pregnant

My first and only son was born 16 1/2 years ago and I never felt the urge to have any more until I met my lovely fiance.
We are getting married next summer but we felt that I was on borrowed time (I'm 38, he's 31) and so decided to start trying for a baby now, as we thought it was going to be a long hard slog!

I went to see my GP and made appointments for bloodtests - which I would encourage all older women to do even if they are not trying right now. Oh and also lie! Tell the GP when you go that you have been trying for over 6 months, as you don't want to waste any precious time do you?
But the 3rd month of actively trying I am pregnant!
We are so excited and a little bit nervous as it is still early days.

I thought I would share with you what we did and my TWW symptoms, as I dismissed them at the time but they are obvious now!

What we did:
I bought a pack of preseed that came with ovulation and pregnancy strips included, from amazon.
We made sure that we BD'd every other day as soon as AF finished. And everyday in the 5 days up to ovulation. We used preseed for the days when I was a bit dry. I stayed laying down for about 20 mins after on my back with knees bent.
To be honest there were days when neither of us felt like it but we did it anyway!

TWW symtpoms:
I can feel ovulation so I knew when that was, but unusually for me, I felt squishy, crampy (not pain, but enough to be annoying) in my abdomen every day after that. Also very slightly nauseous, extremely bloated and my boobs started to get tender right inside (again unusual for me).
Then on the evening of 7DPO I was reading a book in bed and I felt 2 or 3 sharp stabby pains slightly to the left, low down, that subsided back to the squishy crampy feeling.
At 9DPO and 10DPO I noticed a bit of a brown tinge to CM when wiping and thought I was going to AF early (tip - get white loo roll) and the squishy crampy feeling was starting to go.
This stopped, including the nausea and crampy feeling, at 11DPO and I took a test which was a real squinter. I still had achy boobs.
I took another one at 12DPO - another squinter, which my fiance couldn't see.
So at 13DPO I bought First Response 6 Days early test and got a very bright positive straight away.

I hope this helps.
Emily

Success story

Still Incredulous

My husband and I have been married for 3 1/2 years, and we just took the plunge this month in trying to conceive. I'm 34 and have only one ovary, so I REALLY did not expect to get pregnant right away. I think I've taken 6 tests since yesterday to keep reassuring myself that it really is true.

My last period started on January 26. I felt like maybe I was pregnant (had been really tired, and the symptoms were similar to PMS but not quite PMS), so I took a test on February 18, and it came out negative. I should have started my period the following Monday (February 21), but had nothing. I decided to wait a few more days and test again. I tested last night (February 23) and rubbed my eyes when I saw a faint positive on the stick. The instructions said to let the urine adjust to room temperature before testing, so I let it sit for another hour (I had been impatient with that first one) and tested again. I used the Wondofo pink sticks, ordered from Amazon. It came out positive again, and darker this time. I tested again this morning, and had a distinct positive. I had some old tests that were negative that I used for comparison, just to be sure.

I can't really say what exactly made this happen, but here is what I/we did:

-I had been off the pill for at least two years prior to starting (it was really more about not liking being on the pill than planning to conceive)
-about 3-4 months before starting to try, I ramped up my exercise (Ashtanga & Rocket yoga 2-3 x weekly; Zumba 2x weekly, walks), cut down on sugar, lost a little weight, cut down on caffeine, cut down on alcohol and started taking prenatals
-once we actually started trying, I cut out caffeine completely and cut out alcohol
-we used Preseed every time
-I had been having acupuncture, chiropractic and massage for a little over a year for torn disks in my back. In December, when I told my doctor (who practices both western and eastern medicine) that we would be trying, she ordered fertility boosting measures to be added to the acupuncture and chiropractic. I had two such treatments before I found out I was pregnant.
-my doctor had prescribed Metagenics prenatal vitamins, which claim to boost fertility
-we made an effort to RELAX. My midwife told me not to track my ovulation with charts and pee sticks, and to just try to have some fun. She said to start having sex every other day 9 days after the start of my period. So that's what we did--and we had fun, too, with candles, music, the whole bit (though I admit towards the end of two weeks we were getting tired)
-in general I follow a very healthy diet that is mostly plant-based, with lean proteins, whole grains, lots of fruit and veggies and I avoid processed food, fast food, refined sugars, trans fat and saturated fat

It's still very early, and this is my first baby, so I have no idea if it will stick (sure hope it does!). I'm freaking out a tiny bit because my job is pretty demanding, and I didn't think I'd be pregnant right away. The timing with work will be a little tricky, but I'll figure it out. Now we're super motivated to get all of our home improvements done ASAP.

Good luck to everyone! I hope with all my heart that you have success.

Success story

Finally! Yay! Thank God!

After 8 frustrating months, I have had 6 BFPs (I just couldn't believe it, so I kept retesting) starting 11 dpo. I loved reading these success stories when I was ttc. They kept me feeling hopeful, so I will try to share whatever may be helpful to anyone. First of all, when trying to consider what we did different this month, I have come up with a few things. I had been using Preseed and Instead Cups off and on. This month, however, I used them both every time we bd'd. I inserted plenty of Preseed beforehand and I filled the Instead cup with Preseed before inserting it, which was something I had not tried before. Every other month I laid with my hips elevated for 20 minutes after bd, but this month, I stayed laying down after for a few hours. I had never done that before because I was concerned about UTIs, but hey- it was worth it for me. :) The other thing that was different this month is that I worked hard to stay positive without obsessing over symptoms. It was a very fine line for me. Plus, I had all of my Christian women friends pray for me. I consciously gave it over to God. It was difficult for me, because I like to have control. :)

As far as symptoms go, I actually think that I had less symptoms than I did during previous months when I was not pregnant. The biggest difference this month was my difficulty sleeping, which is still a problem. I had/have a horrible time staying asleep, partially because I have to pee every few hours, and partially because I just couldn't sleep. I was also having very vivid, intense dreams. My urine also seemed very dark and smelly.

The day that I got my first very faint positive (11dpo), I woke up in the middle of the night feeling very nauseous and was dizzy all day long. During the six days from my first positive to my missed period, I felt incredibly bloated, slightly crampy, and my breasts were slightly achy. I felt very pregnant, if that makes sense. Now, a week later, I feel like the bloating has decreased and I am getting a little energy back. I am still cramping off and on, occasionally nauseous, peeing every couple hours, and having a terrible time sleeping. I am so happy that I found out early (6 days before missed period). I hate the wait. I really only started having significant symptoms after I had enough hormone in my system to test positive, so I am not sure how helpful that is. Just a side not, I used the AimStrips off the internet... really cheap and very accurate.

Hope this helped in some way!

Baby Dust and Blessings to all!

Success story

We are pregnant!

Hi, Ladies,

I thought I will share my happy finding with you :)
Lets start with the stats:
This is our 3 month trying.
My period cycle is 31-32 days.
Last period started 02/11/10 and I expected the next one to start on 2nd/3rd Dec 2010.
To be honest I didnt want to try this month as I have some Christmas celebrations coming up and I wanted to have a few glasses of wine :) But my hubby sounded surprised and said we should try anyway, so we did.
As I said my period started on 02/11/10.
W/C 08/11 we wanted to start the BD but my hubby works on lates and to be honest we were too tired to conoodle :)
So W/C 15/11 we had the BD every other day and then one more for luck on the 24/11.
I bought a preggie test on 29/11 to test on then and also tested on the morning of 30/11, but got a Negative, so I thought oh well not this month (concentrated on the fact that I could enjoy the celebrations and the wine)
However, on the 02/12/10 I havent had any sign of AF so I waiting till 03/12 just to be sure (not to waste more money on more tests) and tested at work around 13.30pm and I couldnt beleive it......Positive. But again to be sure I waited till the morning pee of 04/12 and here it was... Positive again.
Symptoms:
To be fair I didnt have any. My breasts did feel fuller but they are normally before AF anyway. I would say the only thing that made me think that I am preggo is that I had a period like pain but not in my lower abdomen as normal but higher (near my belly button). Another thing thats different I would say was the visible veins on my chest, normally, they are visible about a week before the AF but this time they didnt disappear (even my hubby said they are very visible)

I hope this helps, future mummies to be :)

Baby dust to you
xx

Success story

BFP!!!

This is our 5th month trying, so I know we're lucky to have results this early; part of me still can't believe it! I came off the pill after 16 years on it, and to be honest thought I'd get pregnant pretty quickly - I guess my mind was just programmed to think if I wasn't on the pill, I would automatically get pregnant! I wanted to write my story as I looked forward to reading the success stories on this site and hope this can help someone else.

We just went with the flow for a couple of months and then really started 'trying' 5 months ago. I worked out almost right away that I don't get much, if any, EWCM, so started doing more research on line to see how I could change that. Last month I was two weeks late but not pregnant (confirmed by the doctor), who was very nice to me and also suggested I use OPK's. I didn't want to go through the "what is happening?!" again so decided to take her advice - the next step for me next month would have been charting.

This month I drank a cup of green tea and took robutussin every day from day 8 onwards and found that my EWCM increased drastically. It wasn't a ton but a lot more than before! I also checked my CP every morning to track the changes. Through using OPK's I found that I ovulate later than expected - on day 16 or 17 - so they really helped with our timing. We also used Pre-Seed to combat the lack of EWCM and I laid with my hips elevated for 20-25 minutes after BD'ing, which we did on Day 13 and 15 (hubby was sick after that so that was it). Even so, as we didn't follow the OPK recommendations (BD on the surge day and the next two days), I thought I was out.

I didn't have many symptoms during the tww. In hindsight, the most significant was the light brown discharge and cramping I had in the early morning on 10dpo, which I thought was AF starting, but it went away (after that I just thought AF was messing me around!). I've had slight cramping today but it's not much different to AF cramps although not as strong. I haven't had sore bbs or veins or any of that, the only difference for me (aside from the spotting) was my horrible mood swing over the weekend and needing to use the bathroom a lot today!! Waaay more than usual!! Because of this I went out and bought an ept, which immediately came up +, then to confirm I got a Clearblue digital, which showed the magic word this afternoon!

I'm going home tonight to tell my husband - hopefully everything works out and we'll have a June 2011 baby. Good luck to everyone!
