I believe the ladies put the rings in the photos for the camera to focus on. Without a good point of focus, the picture wouldn't be very clear. I think. lol

Probably to show people they are happily married. Lol. I don't have one so I can't do that.. :)

To help the camera focus, also to help give you a spot to focus on, or to give the relative size or location of the lines....

I'm not sure, but I have to say it's a bit cheesy
