Most women don't HEAR the heartbeat until they are at least 10 weeks or more. Of course, every woman and OB is different. However, I just SAW my baby's hearbeat at 6 weeks 3 days, last week. Just enjoy your time. Congratulations.

I saw the heartbeat at 7 weeks and 10 weeks on ultrasound. It wasn't until after 12 weeks until I heard it on the doppler.

hello my sister inlaw heard her babys firstat 11 weeks shes also seing a midwife and they take more time to find it then an ob

i didnt get to hear my son's heartbeat til i hit 17weeks. then it was checked every visit to the midwife.

my midwife told me (back then) that the reason they dont check the heartbeat sooner is because it is harder to pick up when you are less than 15-17weeks. they wouldnt want to try listening and not find something and think there was a problem.

i have heard people have earlier checks on the baby's heartbeat but i guess it depends on your midwife.

also, i got to see my son's heartbeat when i was just 8 weeks pregnant. its easier to see than it is to listen.

another thing my midwife had mentioned was that she advised people not to buy those home heartbeat checkers because shes heard so many women going to A+E thinking there is a problem with the baby because they couldnt find the baby's heartbeat..... she said it is more stressful having the home ones than waiting for the midwives do check them.
so i listened to her and didnt buy one.
