I have never used it before but i would start using it 4-5 days before you should ovulate and then a day or so after just in case.

I've o'd anywhere from day 7 to day 16, so I plan to use it from my AF until I am certain that I ovulated and it's too late for conception. And maybe then, even, lol. It feels really nice,why not?

Directions say 15 mins prior to intercourse, and in my opinion I'd use it every time if your are TTC.
