Can ovulation tests strips pick up the pregnancy hormone?

I am 8dpo and i just took a ovulation test and there is a faint line and getting darker i took a hpt 2 days ago and negative should i get excited or not??

OPKs can pick up the HCG hormone, since HCG and LH are similar in molecular nature. However, it is much more likely to get a positive pregnancy test before the OPK would pick up the hormone. 8 dpo is also a bit soon to test, but I send you my bet wishes in hopes that this month works out for you! :)
