Well, it's Monday - maybe things will wake up a little on the board after a slow weekend. @acrichton - I had planned on temping this mont but didn't do it. i might take my temp tomorrow to see where it is. How long do you get positive OPK's for? I'm guessing mine will still be positive today.

@while: Morning!I am using the wondfo cheapies consistently for the first time this month(used to use the clear blue fertility monitor, but it got too expensive) I am a geek so I have all my tests since 9dpo to show the progression in a notebook lol. They are consistent with my temps this month, as I noticed my temp went up yesterday when I got the dark positive opk. I am an advocate for temping to check for Ovulation, even though my Dr isn't sold on it! I don't temp during AF bc the temps really don't mean much and are all over the place. If you start temping now, you will only be able to track if your temp starts dropping before AF. However, mine usually doesnt drop until she shows her wicked witch face.

Wanted to say what I did differently this month just in case we DO actually conceive (which who knows with my crazy ridiculous cycles)

- I drank green tea for 4 days leading up to positive OPK

- Propped myself up on the pillow after BD, and did not get up for 20 minutes at least

- Exercised 2-3 times per week for at least 45 minutes (as opposed to not exercising at all)

- Did not drink more than 1 cup of coffee per day, and did not drink much alcohol (only when I had AF), and one beer this weekend (mmm pumpkin ale)

- Tried to limit my stress as much as possible

So there we have it, lets see if it brings a BFP!!!

I go for my progesterone test on Thursday, CD24 since I am just ovulating yesterday/today

acrichton: Good job on BDing, I that this is your month! and .
I am ok, still recovering from a cold or whatever it is this whole city is sick with, half of the office if sick so maybe not a cold.
But I am back to work, this is CD7, so starting BD today which is great because that maca root has made me crazy (libido up but had ).
I don't know if you look at the July board but this is what I posted there for you yesterday:
on that egg and happy 1DPO. I did some research myself on twins because my great grandma had 3 sets of twins and my mom had a m/c with twins so here is what I found: With the fraternal twins, the mother ovulates multiple eggs that are fertilized by different sperm. So, genetically, this is determined by the mother; mothers with a family history tend to have a higher chance of having twins. With identical twins, it happens when the newly fertilized egg splits and starts dividing as though they are two separate bodies. This happens by chance, nothing about the mother or father really affects this. It is completely random. So, for fraternal twins, it is determined by the mother, for identical, it is chance, not genetics.
I don't know if they told you if you had identical twins or not, but if they were not you sometimes ovulate more than one egg which means you can get twins , assuming you want twins?

@while: for positive OPK and and . Let this month be the month.

AFM: I had a question on the July board maybe some people here may know the answer to? Does anyone know when is the best time for all the medical tests, I have to do an ultrasound a pep and blood work for all the hormonal levels and to check that everything is ok, and since I am sick the doctor said to wait a week or two but I was thinking and realized that if I go around ovulation my FSH levels will be high, and possible other things show abnormal? I always have to wait 1-2 hours to see my doctor and was wondering maybe someone here knows the best times to test things? Thank you.

@kot - I am not sure on the sick thing, sorry. )-: I haven't been to the doctor yet to talk about fertility things. I have my yearly appointment in December, and if not PG by then I will talk to her.

@Acrichton - why are you having your progesterone tested? Also, I saw that your miscarriage was twins (i'm so sorry for your loss earlier this year). Was that just a random thing with twins, or were you on fertility meds? Do they run in your family?

@while & kotikd: The twin thing (I think) was random, because there are apparently only one set of fraternal twins on my husbands side, his great great aunts...the miscarriage was early (stopped growing @7 weeks), so I have no idea if it was fraternal or identical. We just know there were two sacs, one had an embryo outside of it, and one did not : /

For the progesterone, we have been trying about 5-6 months with no success, so my OBGYN started on some tests to be proactive. All my tests so far are normal

Kot: my doc said that my fsh is high n the possibility of me ovulating early would not affect the results.
I disagree!!!!!!
Fsh tests are done on cd2/3
Progesterone in cd21

Afm: not much to hope, levels are abonormally high, his words, n my eggs will never form an embryo, his words.
