I am doing my third IUI this month - or I hope I am.
On Sunday I had ultrasound and it showed few growing follicles. On Tuesday I re-did ultrasound and there were 3 possible follicles on the right side of my body - 14mm, 12mm and 11mm. Left side had whole bunch of small follicles - nothing that was really developing this cycle.
Today I went for ultrasound again and the right side did not get any bigger - as a matter of fact the biggest follicle is now 13 mm. I am taking Follistim so they should be growing :(
and here is the weirdest thing - On Tuesday my left side had no follicles above 10mm - today I had one that was 17mm and another one that was 13mm.
Soooooooo confusing... my body does whatever it wants.
They told me to come in tomorrow and re-do ultrasound and bloodwork. Hopefully I did not ovulate - I will have results of my bloodwork this afternoon. - If I did ovulate they will call me if I did not I am going to re-test tomorrow.
I already look like a Junkie ;) My arms are bruised from the bloodtests and my belly is bruised from hormonal injections
A girl can't catch a break - hopefully at the end I will look back at this and say it was worth it. I am still keeping my fingers crossed for this IUI.

Basia, don't lose hope. Different days, different lab techs, different anything can throw off those follicle measurements, they're looking at millimeters. Your bloodwork will tell a better story. Chin up!!

Tips for preventing bruising:

Don't bend your elbow after a blood draw, just put gentle pressure on the needle site for about a minute or two, and then take off the bandaid or tape (I always use tape, it seems to leave less goo and comes of easier).

For the injections, make sure that you only pinch with enough force so that a bit of fat is available to inject into. I honestly have a bit of a tummy, so I could just lean forward a bit and not pinch at all, just gently hold where I'm going to shoot..

AFM, saw the gyno today. He's sending me for bloodwork to check my thyroid levels. He said they're finding that at least 1 in 8 women have thyroid issues that they're not aware of, possibly even more than that because the optimum levels for conceiving are even lower than the thresshold for "normal."

They didn't check thyroid before? That was one of the first tests they did for me. Hopefully all is good :)

My RE did check my thyroid, but it was back in 2010. I've had 1 baby and 7 miscarriages since then.

In that case it is definitely time to re-check it

2 days past ovulation and nothing to report other then really sore BB and odd twings and pulls. i want my neon sign saying hold on you have a fertilized egg coming your way

So I got a call regarding my hormone levels:
Progesterone - very low zero point something
LH - 6
Estrogen - 325

I think this means that I have not ovulated yet :) YEY

So possibly whomever did my ultrasound on Tuesday made a mistake and measured follicles incorrectly - not sure - as long as the one on the left now continues to grow I will be super happy :)

yay basisa. what kit do you use to check for ovulation?

They actually monitor my bloodwork and through ultrasound - now it will happen every day - possibly tomorrow they will tell me to trigger ovulation :) with Ovidrel

I use OPKs just to make sure that I don't get LH surge before that

@Texasgirl - it looks like we are cycle buddies. I believe I ovulated Tuesday - so today is 2 DPO for me too!

@essemkay - I'm sorry for your losses. )-: I hope they are able to figure something out. Have they not found anything yet in your blood work? Any clotting disorders?

@Basia - hopefully tomorrow will bring good news! (-:

AFM - we now wait. DH and I are done with our antibiotics, so we are waiting for either a positive test OR we will do the IUI next month. Fingers crossed for positive on our own! (-: I should know by next Friday.
