I hope nobody minds. A poem to express my loss

Poem for an unborn

I stand. I wait, my mind drifts
The test watches me mockingly,
1 minute, 2 minute, at last 3
I look down scouring,
Is that colour I see?

I am not a saint
But I have done nothing wrong
To be brought down to earth
With a bump every month,
Just one little chance?

It came, one month, a little line
Proud as punch it stared at me,
A warmth, spread within
So warm and so special
Not mocking now?

I felt on air, my smile so bright
To have a baby
My own little life
My secret kept deep inside
From the cold and dangers of outside

I remember now
I was talking to you
About your life how it would be
When you took your first breath,
saw your daddy and brother for the first time.

It was not meant to be though
I remember you say
As the tears started falling
The pains clawed me back
to that dark little place
