Ok ladies- I forgot to readdress this but I'm back on Zoloft (50mg) I was becoming a crazy lady, but I'm doing much better now. I could feel some serious anxiety coming on and I thought that has to be worse for baby than the Zoloft.
Happy mommy, happy baby!

Hey ladies! So I will chime in on Harmony test - the harmony appears to be very accurate, especially for detecting downs babies. It has a 99+ out of 100 detection rate and the false positive rate is 1 in 1600. Pretty good! I don't think my insurance (United Healthcare) will cover it, and I'm not sure how much it is but it seems to be around $800? Anyone have any experience with that> I know we aren't to that point yet, so it's jumping the gun a bit, but I would like to have the test if possible. But $800 is a bit steep....
@LShrader - did insurance cover yours? How much did you pay if you don't mind?
AFM - I am feeling okay... Yesterday and today I have had some mild queasiness in the mornings so I'm hoping that's related to pregnancy and a sign things are going well. My next ultrasound is Monday morning at 8:30 and I will be around 6 weeks, 5 days. really hoping there's a heartbeat. All this waiting is awful!!!
@Jackie - I agree with Basia - FRER are great!

While - my sister in law did it and her OBGYN had a deal with the "Harmony" company and they did it for $90. Her insurance did not cover it at all. I guess it is worth asking your OBGYN if they have any deals with that company.
I did the same thing when it came to genetic testing that can be passed into a child. My insurance did not want to cover it but the clinic had a deal with company and I only paid $99 to get tested for 102 nasty diseases like multiple sclerosis and other horrible things.

@While-The test i did was the First Trimester Screen, and it was offered through my clinic. Insurance also covered it 100%. I know you can get the Harmony test at a different place. I truly believe they are all the same tests, different places just call them different things. I would first ask your OB and see if its offered.

Basia - Did you mean the Harmony test tests for over 102 diseases? I'm reading it only tests for Trisomy 21, 18, and 13. I don't know how a test would test for Multiple Sclerosis. I have MS and know a ton about it, I can't imagine they'd be able to detect that from maternal blood? Especially since they have no idea the cause? Interesting though. If you know more, I'd be interested in hearing
In Canada we have IPS (Integrated Prenatal Screening) offered to all women. It's what LS was talking about with taking the U/S results for nuchal translucency and combining it with a blood result. If you have a high ratio, example 1:10 of Downs Syndrome then they would offer an NIPT (Non-invasive Prenatal Testing). This is what sounds like it is the equivalent to your Harmony Test. Here it costs about $500. They are now offering it as opposed to an amnio. Our Dr. discouraged us from even starting out with IPS because of my age (29) and relative risk of anything. I understand sometimes even though it wouldn't change the management of your pregnancy--knowledge can be a good thing!
LS - What did you and DH end up choosing?

Very excited for everyone's upcoming ultrasounds!!
I am very interested in all the tests you ladies have been talking about and will be sure to ask my clinic about them. We did some prescreening and know that I'm not a carrier of Cystic Fibrosis, Fragle X and a few others but would love additional reassurance. I was finally able to upload my test from this morning. I'll take another one Sat morning and then wait for the blood test on Monday!
