Pelvic Ultrasonogram or HSG? Some advice would be appreciated.
I have a pelvic ultrasound scheduled for Monday because of intermittent mild pain in my left ovary. The ultrasound is going to cost me about $700.00 out of pocket and I know HSG' can run about 800.00. So, should I just have an HSG done instead? Or the ultrasound with the saline? wonder if I should ask for an HSG or the saline? Just could use some advice.

Personally, I'd do the sonogram. Do a good read up and comparison on the HSG, SSG (sonosalpingogram) and SIS (saline infusion sonogram), then go from there as to what u think will get u the answers u need. I had a transvaginal u/s done minutes before my SSG, to check ovaries etc, so u could call and ask if they will be doing that with the sono or if thats extra. Not sure how it works in ur country, never hurts to ask tho. Good luck!
