Probably nothing. May be ovulation spotting. Are u sure u are 3 dpo?

Well it was hard to pin point when my actual period began because I had spotting from 3 days prior to when I started bleeding heavy.

CD 1 starts on the day of full red flow, so not until you started bleeding heavy, not spotting. Also, not every woman is text book and ovulates on CD 14 and has 28 day cycles. I bet that this is just ovulation spotting and your estimate of O is off. Nothing to worry about. If it was O spotting, at least you timed BD well! :)
