Is the metallic taste some women get like an iron taste (like blood)?

The "metallic taste" on the TWW symptom chart, is it an iron taste? I had never had it but today I had this iron taste in my mouth. It was almost like blood.

I always assumed the metalic taste is like the taste of blood too. I never experienced the metallic taste because of pregnancy, so I don't know for sure, but I think that's what they mean. I got really strange, gross tastes in my mouth the first 14 weeks, but never metalic or bloody.
